36 and I'm ready for this to happen to me, I would gladly sleep until 11am every day if I couldWhat age are you. Past your mid 30's you'll find yourself waking earlier and earlier.

Agreed.
Mornings are awesome.
Opposite here. Hate mornings. Sleep through them and rarely ever wake up before 2 PM.Agreed.

So this has been pretty annoying. Since November of last year, I have been waking up at 7-8 AM nearly every day due to scheduling reasons. My schedule changed like 3 weeks ago and I can sleep in a bit most days. But my body wakes up at 8 AM no matter what. I could go to sleep at 3 AM, not put an alarm on with the intent to sleep in, and I'll still wake up at 8. And the problem is that I still feel exhausted because of it. I also can't fall back asleep. It's just not happening.
Anybody else experience this? How long did it take for you to get out of this loop? I've been like this for 3 weeks now.
6:30 for me. Having to wake up at 8 sounds like heaven to me.

My room gets pretty bright in the morning. I guess that was never a problem before though. Same with sound.
Man it looks so nice and sunny out there....
*clicks same gaf threads over and over instead of going for walk/run*
TLDR, this is a stealth brag OT
It could be the daylight that is waking you up.I go to bed at midnight I wake up at 9am.
I go to bed at 5am I wake up at 9am.
Why does this happen.
This is your problem. Work on it or don't.That's not how life works though. Sometimes stuff is going on at night. I'm not going to tell my friends that we should halt our night early to sleep early and pick it back up early on the morning.
Sleeping in is relative to your schedule. To some people, waking up at 6-7 is sleeping in because they wake up at 4-5. No real point in pushing some absolute time for what is "sleeping in".Unless you're a shift worker, 8 AM is sleeping in. Most adults I know and work with wake up around 6-7.

This isnt a problem
Your body just doesnt produce enough melatonin if you're not sleeping in the dark
Go to bed earlier and stop complaining
Why are you telling me this isn't a problem? I used to sleep as long as I needed to. I worked for 10 months at a regular schedule, but now I'm off that schedule. My body is still stuck on that schedule. I already know sleeping earlier is an option. I want to get off of this schedule, not accommodate it. I'm trying to return to my old sleeping habits, not keep this one.
