In my experience, Amazon is much worse about shipping PC parts than Newegg. This seems very exceptionally bad.
Packages from Newegg for me have historically been entirely filled with non-static peanuts.
With Amazon, buying something like an HDD, RAM, SSD, or processor, I'm lucky to get something other than a very lightly padded soft envelope.
