I need a PS3 headset for GTA 5. Help me GAF

Eh, it'd actually probably be better to update those ASAP IF bought new, at least if they brick you can immediately exchange.

I guess you're right. I guess what I should say is if you buy them used or are past your warranty DO NOT update them.

I mean seriously, the fact that a failed update can completely kill your headset is really damn bad.

DON'T GET THE PULSE ELITE!!

Unless you're ok spending 100+ for a ticking time bomb,
Yes, they're awesome, Yes, they WILL BREAK. 3 months, 6 months or 2 years at best, they'll crack no matter what and shameful Sony will even say it's not covered by warranty despite being their fault. I've bought them a few weeks ago and then decided to return them (check the OT if you have doubts).

Don't listen to people telling you'll be fine if you treat them with maximum care, they'll break anyway cause is a design flaw. It's a shame Sony didn't replace them with an updated design. Look for a cheap Sony headset V1 which will work with the PS4 as well just like the Elite.
Yeah, it pisses me off too cause the Elite were fucking awesome,

Another +1 for pulse elite, although this is the first I've heard of any bricking issues.

He's right they do break. Mine lasted almost a year to date of release.

It's worth mentioning. That people with bigger heads tend to have their sets last longer. The stress point of the headphones is where you adjust them. If you have a smaller head and leave the set unadjusted, chances are they'll crack faster.. So extend them, even if you don't have to.

I caught my crack before it was too late (taped it up). But, still purchased another pair. I know there's a high failure rate. But it's the best option in my opinion. The A40/50's are alright, but the sound quality isn't worth the price. The mix amp is the only selling point there.
