To begin with, duckroll's not what you'd call human. Over the past two hundred years -- A kind of consciousness formed layer by layer in the crucible of Neogaf. It's not unlike the way life started in the internet four billion years ago. Neogaf was his primordial soup, a base of evolution. He is formless. He is the very discipline and morality that Neogaf invokes so often. How can anyone hope to eliminate him? As long as this forum exists, so will he.

Don't you know that duckroll's plans have your interests -- not his -- in mind? Aeana, listen carefully like a good girl! The mapping of the Neogaf genome was completed early this century. As a result, the evolutionary log of Neogaf users lay open to us. duckroll started with genetic engineering, and in the end, he succeeded in digitizing life itself. But there are things not covered by genetic information. Neogaf memories, ideas. Culture. History. Genes don't contain any record of Neogaf history. Is it something that should not be passed on? Should that information be left at the mercy of nature? We've always kept records of our lives. Through words, pictures, symbols... from tablets to books... But not all the information was inherited by later generations. A small percentage of the whole was selected and processed, then passed on. Not unlike Splogenborg, really. That's what Neogaf history is, Aeana.

But in the current NeoGaf, trivial information is accumulating every second, preserved in all its triteness. Never fading, always accessible. Rumors about ports, misinterpretations, slander... All this junk data preserved in an unfiltered state, growing at an alarming rate. It will only slow down NeoGaf progress, reduce the rate of evolution. Aeana, you seem to think that duckroll's plan is one of shitposting. You're being silly! What duckroll proposes to do is not to control content, but to inject Zelda in our veins. Neogaf furthers human flaws and selectively rewards the development of convenient half-truths. Just look at the strange juxtapositions of morality around you.

Billions spent on new mods in order to humanely ban other members.

Rights of mods are given more respect than that of their victims.

Although there are people suffering in juniored membership, huge donations are made to protect Neogaf GOLD. Everyone grows up being told the same thing.

"Be nice to other people." "But mock those with different opinions!"

"You're special." "Believe in yourself and you will be tagged." But it's obvious from the start that only a few can be tagged...

You exercise your right to "freedom" and this is the result. All rhetoric to avoid conflict and protect each other from hurt. The untested truths spun by different interests continue to churn and accumulate in the sandbox of political correctness and value systems. Everyone withdraws into their own small gated community threads, afraid of a larger forum. They stay inside their little ponds, leaking whatever "truth" suits them into the growing cesspool of Neogaf at large. The different cardinal truths neither clash nor mesh. No one is invalidated, but nobody is right. Not even natural selection can take place here. Neogaf is being engulfed in "post-truth."

And this is the way Neogaf ends. Not with a bang, but a whimper. duckroll's trying to stop that from happening. It's his responsibility as mod. Just as in genetics, unnecessary information and memory must be filtered out to stimulate the evolution of the species. Who else could wade through the sea of garbage you people produce, retrieve valuable truths and even interpret their meaning for later generations?

That's what it means to inject Zelda in our veins.

See Nintendo this is what happens when you deny people their Zelda.fix for so long

So duckroll doesn't get juniored for this? I did the same and got juniored :(

I unjuniored you because I took you at your word that we juniored you for posting a zero-content hype thread...

but when I searched your thread history you actually got juniored for posting a full article without excerpting while using your OP to complain about how much GAF sucks and is filled with Nintendo haters so I am a little skeptical that you've learned your lesson

I am both fascinated and extremely confused by this thread. Mod abuse of power?

duckroll, to get your fix I suggest you replay Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon (on a continuous loop) from now until Breath of the Wild releases.

This is the perfect time to play Hyper Light Drifter, 3D Dot Heroes, Elliot Quest, or Ittle Dew. Or, to sequence break Phantom Hourglass. That's one challenge a lot of Zelda fans haven't done.

I still never played through OOT3D Master Quest... maybe I should?

Only the dungeons change, but I really quite enjoyed the remix. Lots of interesting new quirks and a bit more challenging to suss out solutions than vanilla.

I fee you, there is nothing in gaming better than a new Zelda. Plus this one looks beyond amazing, this could be the greatest game ever made.

Well I was certainly fooled

Y'all should play Minish Cap anyway though

I should get back to Ocarina of Time 3D. I never played Ocarina before...

I stopped because of the unfriendly save system that didn't let me save anywhere.

I don't think this game will be better than Link Between Worlds.

It already solved one of the main issues with A Link Between Worlds' nonlinear progression. Instead of being able to get every item at the start, you actually start with (mostly) every dungeon related item allowing the designers to consistently make more complicated situations much more quickly.

Real fans know Zelda is the name of the princess, and
Epona Spunk
is the name of the intravenous street drug.

Is duckroll a #fakegamermod?

This is the truest thread. All I want is Zelda.

I have a 5 month old and I haven't played through a game in her existence.

Zelda will change that.

Breath of the Wild is my rock.

I'd say I'm feverishly excited, but it really feels like yesterday since Skyward Sword came out. Times moving too fast.

For some reason it feels like it's been forever since OoT3D, yet not that long since SS. Despite the mere difference of a few months in their release date.

Excited since it sounds like we can do dungeons in any order, explore for more story information, and if we wanted, go straight to the final game boss with no clothes and a stick. Hopefully it's more difficult, which it definitely looks like based on footage so far.
