Cats don't do too well with leashes. They're better off in a full harness around their bodies. If you start them very young they can grow to put up with it, but it's the rare cat that will actually want to go on a walk with you. My cat tolerates a harness but the few times I took her outside she was too scared of everything to move.

This is bullshit, cats love leashes. My girlfriends cat lines up her thongs (flip flops for americans :lol) and his lead at the door and then comes and gets her. Cats are very funny on leashes, free spirits.

You can't conclude cats love leashes from your one cat... If I put one on mine she lays on her side.

The cat is doing well! We found a home with loving owners a few blocks down from us. She hasn't escaped to come visit us since, which is perhaps a sign she's being cared for well.
