Well, while we're at it.

OH JESUS CHRIST SO I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!
Sometimes when I'm shaving I get the imagery of "shaving" my teeth off accidentally. It really sends a shiver down my spine. Dunno why my mind thinks it up.

I'm not clicking the pictures, but I banged my toe pretty hard a couple years back.

It loosened a bit and eventually fell off. It was pretty sensitive touching it, but slowly grew back.

Something like this happened to my index finger (car door) it was one of the most painful experiences of my life.

Okay since we are all high (are we?):

Same shit happened to me (the car door thing) when i was a kid, only it was finger skin.

All the skin from that scar down was gone, so fuckin painful.

when i was 11, a huge padlock landed on my right toe and the whole nail basically popped out from the impact. if it landed on any bones, probably would've broken my foot.

i walked up 3 stories up to our apartment to get to the bathroom so the floor wouldnt get bloody. it was hanging off from the corner of the toe with a thin thread of skin. ripped it off like a man squeezed the extra blood out and walked out to the hospital to get it wrapped. throwing up....lol. btw, op your toe will never be the same, a year later i got a infection while the new one was growing in and it also turned into an ingrown nail. (that hurts even more than actually ripping it off, especially if you play soccer)

The nail will grow all weird now and look all deformed. thats your life from now on. if someone wants to suck your toe give them the other one. thats what i do. enjoy your new life

(I have a bad habit of picking at my toenails and have ripped a significant chunk of them off from time to time. I do properly discard the nails, though!)
Wow I have the same habit too O_O

Yes we are :)
And to clarify, I didn't puke because I was grossed out by the toe. Between my toe bleeding so much, a few drinks, and the oh-so-excruciating pain, I went into shock and puked. I don't have pictures of that though.

i had one of my figner nails ripped off and once you get it lifted off the skin the painful part is over. then all you have to do is tug it out.

i also had an ingrown toe nail as a kid which i had to get surgically removed. now a small piece of my toenail grows seperate next to the real deal and as a result i pull it out with plyers 3 times a year. maybe i'll make a video of it next time i do it.

That sucks dude, the same kind of thing happened to me when I was younger.

I was running on the beach and ended up kicking a rock that I didn't see and it fucked up my toe pretty badly... had to have the nail removed.

About a year ago I was going around bare foot and going out to the garage door shut and it has one of those fillers underneath to prevent a gap and it caught at the right angle to go under my big toe nail. Next thing I know it ripped my nail right up off my toe.

All I can say is that it hurt like a mother. I didn't go to the emergency room or anything and took care of it at home but I couldn't wear a shoe for like 2 weeks. Had to wear open sandals. And boy was there blood all over the tiled floor.

Probably one of the most painful things you can do to yourself besides stabbing, shooting etc because the flesh under the nail is not intended to be forcibly ripped and exposed like that

I've had both my big toenails fall off multiple times over the years due to trauma from being landed on/stepped on/jammed while playing basketball. When it happens, they'll bleed underneath the nail (you see it turn black) and then the nail just falls off after a few days; sometimes a new nail has started to form underneath at the base already, but other times it takes a while and you're left with no toenail for a while.

Happens to me every year after I play basketball. It's not a big deal. I rip them off pretty often and a shiny new nail grows.

It was between my boobs (I'm a lady). It was really awkward having to go around bra-less for a month while the area healed up. :lol
ah sorry for the man comment then, thats a hell of a spot for a cyst good to hear you're all healed up tho

Sounds like the best marriage ever

I actually does. ;-)

Anyway, I accidentally tore off my middle toenail when I was a kid; it grew back a lot thicker and doesn't look or feel like a "normal" toenail. I don't know why it doesn't grow back right, but it looks like I'm not alone...

I once had my toenail ripped off due to a scooter accident when i was like 12. Just bandaged it up til it got dry and crusty. Just wait it out and the crumbling will do all the work.

One time I was sitting on a bench, and I threw my leg over and hit my toe nail on the wood. I got like a half-inch chunk of wood stuck in my toe-nail.

Being a stupid kid (or more pain resistant than I am now) at the time, I didn't notice after the general pain stopped.

Then a year later I noticed something sticking out of my big toe.

I then dug out a bunch of wood and paint chips out of my big toe nail with a knife.

Thinking back, I was a pretty badass kid.

I ripped off a fingernail once when I was a really small kid. Middle finger on my right hand conveniently enough.

I was riding on the bottom of the shopping cart a grocery store(the old school ones) and my hand fell down and hit the wheel. Basically ripped it off. It was hanging by a tiny thread. I cried a lot and got some free starburst I think. Took me to a doctor and had the hanging part ripped off and bandaged up.

It was showing everyone the injury for a couple of weeks!

Middle finger got jammed when I was playing basketball, grew new fingernail.

Tripped and busted up my cuticle on my big toe, grew new toenail.

Jammed a 140 lb dumbbell on my pinky, didn't grow new fingernail, still have old one.

Someone dropped the metal leg of a bed on my middle toe last summer, in the process of growing a new nail.

Probably the top most painful experiences of my life.

Question:

When the nail is growing back does it feel weird or hurt in anyway? Also, does it grow back faster?

It's all thin and squishy, more like a film over the skin. Then it just gets thicker.
