I shaved my chest for the first time :(

I never thought I'd do this, but I'm already fearing the repercussions. It was never a plan of mine, but the girl I'm seeing suggested multiple times that I do it. She's not into the hairy chest thing, so I thought I'd do it tonight.

So, now my chest feels like it's on fire, and my shirt just doesn't feel right on my body anymore.

What can I do, Gaf? :(

Kramer: (high pitched voice) "Well women do it." I'll tell you what. I'll pick you up a sundress and a parasol and you can just (high pitched voice) sashey your pretty little self around the town square.

Kramer: Listen to me. You don't tell anybody about this. No one. You hear me?

Urban myth, proven false.

However, you can either do it more often and get used to (and better) at it.

Or, you can get a body groomer that doesn't nick you or give you razor burn. I have a Norelco Body Groomer that I bought for a pretty penny and it works amazingly well. A bonus for this is that there are varying lengths and you can trim the hair to make it not so long but uniform across the chest. I do this sometimes too, depending on my mood, and I like it very much because it defines your muscles better and it's not uncomfortable in the least.

Or, you could just tell your woman to fuck off and love the hair.
 
shave one way, use a moisturizer after you shave (maybe like cocoa butter or something). first time is always the worst, after a couple times you wont feel a thing.

so does it work well for the pubic region? i may look into this. whats the one you have?
 
Yeah, I don't know why people go straight to SHAVING. Why not trim first? It's like, "oh I've never had caviar before, let me take a big huge BITE out of these fish eggs!".

Whether you're going to shave after or not, always trim first... and never do the shaving with a normal electric shaver.
 
I did this is March...

I shave my chest regularly now because I CANNOT handle growing it back. It begins to itch so much that I make myself bleed. I have made it through 3 days of that madness and it didn't stop, therefore I shaved it.

I am doomed, and you are too. =*(

I have this one and it works great for the pubic region. Basically, you just go up and down (it cuts both ways for ease of use in tough spots) on any part of your body. The area may have red stripes for a couple of minutes but that is just because you're irritating your skin by rubbing it so much. I've never, ever nicked myself and that includes all parts of the downstairs region. I swear by it.

p.s. That is a rechargeable docking stand, so no batteries and it's shower safe. You can take it into the shower with you and lather up the area for an even more comfortable (and less messy) shave.

I have sensitive skin and whenever I shaved, I would always get razor bumps at the bottom of my neck, it looked like I had folliculitis or some shit. I tried this stuff and, like magic, I have never seen bumps or redness again. I recently used this to shave my chest and back also and it felt great. I also have facial hair that I need to shave around, and this stuff is great for that too because it goes on real light and is not foamy like a traditional shave cream, but more like a lotion so you can see where you are shaving.

How does this compare to the mangroomer?

Here is a mangroomer review on amazon:

I am very happy with the shaver and it does exactly what it claims. I want to keep "my boys" shaved smooth and this did the job safely and quickly. I really didn't use the comb much except for under my arms and it was a little tricky to get used to at first. But overall the shaver trimmed the hair down well with no nicks or scrapes - just took 3 or 4 passes since my hair grows in many different directions.

Another tip, when your hair is really long probably on the first shave - go slowly so you don't pull any of the hairs by the boys. After that it is a breeze and another feature I like since i'm pretty lazy is that you can clean it running it under the faucet. I think this item is a staple for men these days as overgrowth body hair is not so cool for anyone.

Watched the Olympics and knew I wanted to do some touching up. This really is a great groomer and comfortable to use. The trick is to move the groomer slowly over the areas to be trimmed. If you groom too fast, you won't get a close shave and will pull at some of the hairs. Also, since body hair grows in different directions, you may have to manuver the groomer in different directions to achieve the perfect trim.

Another key tip is to trim down your leg and arm hair with the guard on, I think it makes you look a lot leaner. Takes a little while to trim it down, but seems like it doesn't grow back fast as I haven't done it since the first time over a month ago. Groin and butt I have to do every 3-4 days though. Good thing is there is very little skin irritation and only a few knicks, but nothing big.

I laughed, unable to imagine a generation of men convinced to make themselves hairless.

Go figure.

It might be better, I don't know. It's more expensive by $20 but that doesn't always mean better. That second review reminds me of another thing that is awesome about these body groomers; they allow you to shave down your long leg hair. I have thick black leg hair but after I used the body groomer on them it makes the hair look finer and my legs look more defined and even younger. (I'm 26.) They're tanner, too, because the sun doesn't have to fight through the hair. I'd recommend trying that out as well, if you pick up one of these groomers. Put the attachment on and trim up your leg hairs (arms and pits too?) and it definitely makes a big difference. I'll tell you before you ask that you cannot tell after you trim your leg hair, it just looks like it grows finer and shorter. If you have a lot of hair on your legs, it's a pretty big bonus.

That shit is awesome. I use it and it works as advertised.
 
I've shaved my chest several times, and it only hurts after the first few times. When you shave it again, it won't be nearly as bad.
 
I never, ever, ever get how this act fails so hard for so many people. If you're not experienced with shaving body hair (and by experience I mean your body's reaction to it) then use some electric clippers..looks like this:

It's quicker, it won't nick or cut you, and it won't burn at all. Put it on the lowest setting with no guard and all it will leave is a very fine peach fuzz on your chest. Sure it's not baby smooth but it's damn close and from standing away even 2 feet you can't see the difference.
 
I do it all the time. I did a proper wet shave once but got rashes afterwards, but they stopped itching with a bit of moisturising cream on there.

Since then I've been doing it with the electric trimmer and it's fine, quick and easy. Hairy chests = fail.

If you're gonna force her to shave her junk all the time (and I'm sure you do), you might as well make some concessions too, right?

My woman waxes everything down below. I at least try and keep the forest trimmed up just bit for her in return.

i'm a new member of the shaved chest club as well.

it's going pretty good so far but recently there's been unsightly red bumps all over my breast region. looks kinda gross.
