I know Sucker Punch have denied it ( of course they would ) but I think Cole will be in game. Either as some form of memory or maybe even a NPC near end game. If Cole isn't in it, it definitely is looking like Zeke will show up. I just don't think they they are going to drop those characters completely with no mention of it. What about you GAF? And before you say this is ludicrous game devs have been known to flat out lie (remember that twisted metal game that definitely was not at all being made).

Wasn't ending choice to
kill off all conduits (including Cole) or kill of all non-conduits? Conduits are still very much around and the whole lightning bolt thing probably means he's alive.

Pretty sure they said a vast majority of people chose the good ending so thats canon.

One of the developers said he's like Che Guevara. So you'll probably see a few posters on bedroom walls, and hear people misrepresenting Cole's life and intentions.

So, I just realised I have no idea how this game follows on from 2.
It's confirmed that they're continuing from the 'good' ending? So Cole killed every Conduit on the planet? Did they just... come back? What's the deal?
Cole did not kill EVERY conduit, he just sent like a death wave for conduits around him. Think of it like a conduit bomb with Cole at its epicenter. The bomb could have a radius of a few kilometers or a hundreds of kilometers, and he killed everything in that radius.

Decent theory. No matter what, the timeline stuff crossed with the tease at the end, I think it's a safe bet that he's there in some capacity. Delsin can acquire a conduit's powers and we still don't know what all of them are...

He will be woven into the story for sure. I think he will have a part in it but actually physically showing up in the game I'm not so sure. My guess is that he will appear in the Coles legacy DLC that comes with the special edition.
It didn't actually do all that though. One of the inFamous Second Son ARG sites has a quiz that says

I guess it's for the sake of boss fights, but I think it's kind of dumb that they gave a bunch of people super powers. That's one thing I liked about Prototype. It made you feel like a living atomic bomb whose only enemy was billions of dollars worth of military and crazy feral mutant things.

I know he gets a ton of hate here, but I actually like Cole quite a bit. With the way the series is progressing I'm okay with them using a new lead character, especially as Cole seems to still be referenced in game.

Cole in the original games was a boring, generic, grizzled blank slate of a character. Cole in inFamous 2 was fun, charming, and layered.
Sucker Punch's storytelling improved tremendously for the sequel. The first one still had a great story but the characterizations and dialogue don't hold a candle to its successor.
Oh ok, I remember reading something sort of similar to that description from a second source, and I thought only conduits far away lived. Thanks.
It makes me think that, if not Cole, at least one of the major characters from inFamous 2 that we thought had died in the blast will show up in Second Son.
