Mine started getting loud over the last month. Seems to have three sounds, silent, slight and jet engine. Hey engine still doesn't happen a lot but also happened with ni oh.

Ps3 started as well and always with ps1 games and it's so loud I don't even want to play.

Just shouldn't be that loud. I'm sure my ps3 needs cleaning as well as ps4

My anniversary console has always been louder than my original console.

I noticed mine getting louder over the past couple weeks. Since my PS4 is out of warranty I decided to take it apart and clean the insides. I was surprised at the amount of dust. After the cleaning my PS4 had been as quiet as a mouse.

I just remove the bottom of the console and blow the air out. Really makes a difference, doesn't it!

If anything is being cooled by a fan it's never going to be silent.

My CUH-1200 gets quite loud when I play The Witcher 3, but it's never as loud as the original Xbox 360 and I'm playing with headphones anyway.

My PS3 fat is waaaaay less noisy than my PS4. No idea where you're coming from with that "not the same galaxy" comment. The PS3 is a rather silent console to me while the PS4 is definitely closer to the fat 360 than the PS3.

I want to hear this... because stock for stock the decibel numbers do not even match up.

Make a video please. Seriously.

I'm going to open it up and dust it since it's well past its warranty.

I'm on my 2nd PS4 and its way quieter than my 1st one.

My PS4 is always jet engine mode when playing a game (regardless of the game), silent on pretty much anything else.
I would clean it, but one of the screws is busted (the screwdriver doesn't fit in it), so I can't even open it, annoying the other screws work fine. Been thinking of just snapping it off, but not that desperate yet.
