OT: More than a break, i try to vary the genre of the games after i finish one (If I finished a FPS game, the next one can't be another FPS, it should be a RPG or Adventure game) exactly to avoid genre fatigue.
I think this is key. I've done this same thing for years now. In fact I take it a step further and try to alternate between fast paced and slower paced games. It's a good palette cleanser to go from an FPS to a point and click adventure game.
So that when you're ready to play a game like Call of Duty all those bombastic set piece moments actually do blow you away after playing something like Grim Fandango, whereas they might seem more of the same if you had come off a game like Crysis or Uncharted.
Mad Max was awesome!!! Easily a 9/10 for me personally. My third best game of 2015 but my top game in terms of just pure fun. It's a lot of fun to play. Story and characters are the weak spot but the gameplay is excellent (outside of that lame ass jump Max does). The melee combat is better than Batman Arkham because it's like The Last of Us in terms of the brutality and impact of the hits. The car combat is the best since Twisted Metal. The open world is more filled and better than MGSV. The weather effects, sandstorms, etc. are fucking insane. Mad Max is an awesome fun ass game.
