I want Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on PC.

While you're at it Konami, do us a solid and bring Silent Hill 2 and 3 with the camera FOV tweaks and the sound loop fix. The ports are otherwise pretty much ready to go. 4 and 1 might take too much work but 2 and 3 have almost no reason to not be available on Steam or GoG.

All games featured in the legacy collection bar MGS4 are available on PSN. MGS4 has never been on PSN. I've no idea why, but I think it has something to do with the file size. Bear in mind, the game was released in 2008. A lot has changed since then with regards to PSN.

isn't legacy cheaper than buying the games individually though ?
i wanted to wait as long as possible to get it so that i'm 100% the game wasn't being released on any other platform

Let them first finish MGSV please.

What does MGSV have to do with this? It's not like the MG company is working on any other game atm.
Who ported MGR again, was it the MG company itself?

Pretty sure MGS4 is available on JPN PSN at least.

I think that MGSV in PC is going to be a thing sooner or later. Plus, a few years ago, when the MGS HD Collection was announced, at first they said it would come to PC as well.
I think it could be a very successful franchise on PC nowadays, specially with Steam around. Plus, the release of MGR:R in PC is definitely a sign. Depending on the sale numbers, we might have better chances.
Anyone knows the numbers of MGR:R on PC?

I strongly disagree, lack of Ground Zeroes on PC does not in any way imply Phantom Pain's absence. I would not have bought it anyway, since I usually don't like paying for demos. Instead I will wait for full version which will contain it too.

Wait, what?

You do mean waiting for some kind of "Phantom Pain Game of the Year Super Edition" right?

Because as it is; Ground Zeroes and TPP are two fully seperate games, and GZ will not be a part of TPP at all.
TPP starts off where Ground Zeroes ends.

Yes PLS Konami do this.

Release all of them on Steam with trading cards and controller support. How fucking awesome would it be to have a Psycho Mantis or Sniper Wolf background in your steam profile? Also want a ketchup bottle and pack of cigarettes for emoticon. Make it happen Kojima!

Having at least the original trilogy with Steam achievements and everything would be pretty awesome. I already own the games in like 3 different forms but I'd quadruple dip day 1. It seems like wishful thinking but I thought the same thing about Resident Evil 4 and that one actually happened out of nowhere, so I'm not ruling it out.

As was already mentioned, Konami loves rereleasing the games. I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually released another collection for PS4 and Xbox One. If the series ever does come to Steam, it'll probably right alongside such a release.

I'd definitely buy it. I still have the original Microsoft publisher mgs and the second one. They could definitely use the upgrade treatment. PC gaming seems to have grown so much, I'm sure any release would be met with success

I still don't believe that. They will bundle them together at the very least for those that missed it

Would playing GZ as a prologue chapter and then going into TPP be jarring to anyone who played MGS2?

Dark Souls have proven that internet petitions do, sometimes, in fact, work.

And I want MGS collection on PC. I am selfish like that. I do own first four games (MGS1+2 on PC, MGS3 on PS2 and MGS4 on PS3), but I want them on the platform I prefer so they can be accessible for me indefinitely. I do not want to rebuy them on console that is on its way out (PS3). PC is forever, so it would be nice to have it on it.

So, with that said, I got linked this petition by biggest czech gaming website (games.cz):

https://www.change.org/petitions/petition-to-port-metal-gear-solid-legacy-and-or-hd-collection-to-pc

I put down my signature, since Dark Souls tought me to stop arrogantly looking down at internet petitions (thanks TucoBenedicto, by the way!).

Kojima said himself he wants to see MGS5 on PC, but legacy collection should come too.
Anyone else ?

Buddy you're not alone, whatever petitions you are making sign me up for it.

I have a feeling they may start releasing MGS on PC now that the architeture is the same (so expect MGS PP and GZ on PC eventually)

I own both MGS and MGS 2 on pc was delighted to find them both (MGS 1 was a used copy, MGS 2 was brand spanking new) and they played really well on my pc at the time. Was devastated that they didn't follow suit and release 3 on pc as well.

I have the MGS collection on ps3 and 360.... would recollect the old games again if they ever got released on pc.

They can outsource the port or something and it wouldn't impact the main team

Thats what I heard of how it can be done

The MGS series is Kojima's baby. Even if they outsource it again to Bluepoint or whatever they would always keep an eye on it, meaning they can't just focus entirely on MGSV.

Perhaps... Hasn't the price of the legacy collection increased? It really depends on what kind of deals you get. The HD collection was heavily discounted in a recent PSN sale and MGS1 + VR missions aren't too expensive either. That leaves MGS4, which isn't too expensive either.

I've no idea how rare the legacy collection is... The poster I replied to called it "extremely rare". I'll have to take his word for it. It's commonly available here in Japan. No idea what it's like where he lives. I was just trying to point out that he can get all the games on PS3 if he's not too fussy about getting them all in one nice package.

Sure they assign a producer from KojiPro and do some QA which would be outsourced anyway. That shouldn't impact MGSV in any way. I am sure there a bunch of people at KojiPro not working on MGSV right now, most likely that Zone of the Enders project is in some form of early prototyping. I wouldn't be surprised if there is another Rising game in development, requiring lots more attention than a port would. Plus Kojima is the VP of Konami Digital Productions if he is focused entirely on MGSV he isn't doing his job, I am sure a big part of his day is already looking at social browser and mobile game projects.

I'm talking mostly about Kojima himself. Do you think he had nothing to do with the HD collection or MGR for PC? he must overlook everything that has his name on it. And yes i know they are working on other side projects in the same time maybe they are working on a new ZoE and Rising 2 and together with MGSV he is busy enough. So again, let them first finish MGSV so he can then aftewards focus on other projects.

Again Kojima looks at every game Konami makes. He is the VP of all of Konami Digital Productions. Are you saying that random web and mobile games are worth more of his time than a PC port of his games? And how much effort do you think a port would take from him? It's not like there would be any content changes or anything. His involvement with MGR PC was probably limited to OKing the budget for the port and checking out a build that time he tweeted a pic of himself playing it before release. Maybe he would want to check over the M&K controls and the Steam Trading Cards I guess but I doubt he would spend more than a few hours of his time going over that. Other than that maybe he would probably play a few hours of each game to insure they didn't mess up the visuals or something before release. Going to E3 probably took more of his time away from MGSV than an externally developed port of an old game would.

Japaneses doesn't like single player PC games. Metal Gear Rising was launched just because since ever it was developed for PC, but still was delayed.

And one more thing: Peace Walker and MGS4 has a lot of Sony references. Actually, even MGS V has in the Walkman. It's kinda weird to see this thing in a non Sony console.

Just for the record, so you can have an accurate picture, it went more or less this way:

So I was actually right, you were one of the originators :p
Letting people and press know about it counts for a lot.

Or you could save yourself a whole lot of grief by picking up the HD collection, MGS4 and a digital copy of MGS1 + VR missions. Problem solved.

Person says they don't want to buy PS3 for one series. Your advice: Buy the PS3.
Wat.
Hell, I own PS3 and even I do not want to buy this collection on it, since it's on its way out, getting ready to be sold off and replaced by PS4 next year.
PC version would solve this eternal conundrum.

Is this some kind of stealth port begging thread?

Yeah, totally stealthy, the thread name totally doesn't say "I want game X on platform Y".
So stealthy!
Also, keep your backseat modding elsewhere.

TPP starts off where Ground Zeroes ends.

It is pretty clear they will include GZ in TPP in some special edition even if it happens later after release. And for platform where GZ wasn't released, they would include it as part of the package.

I want MGS4 on PC, i have played the others on console but since i skip last gen i would love to play 4..

Unfortunately with MGS4, I am sceptical that it would ever appear elsewhere besides PS3. It was just too dependent on Cell, and who knows if Sony didn't fund a portion of it. Wouldn't surprise me.

This must be a joke post.

I wish.

Japaneses doesn't like single player PC games.

Do you want a cookie with that generalization ?

These references are nice and all, but who cares? Listing that as a reason why PC version could not happen is bizzare.

Anyway, look at these beauties. They deserve to get their younger brothers along for the ride.

Considering that MGS HD on PC would allow us to play the entire saga for ever, without worrying about backwards compatibility, yes, I definitely want MGS HD on PC.

So tell me why the Walkman appears on Microsoft consoles.

Signed. I didn't even know I could sign so hard.
I hope this gets a lot of signatures and ToraShiro sees it and forwards it to the right people.

Hmmm I remember the original thread on now defunct namco forums where you, Namco community guy and one other person were talking about it, then someone made the petition (I thought it was you) and it blew up. Anyway, still cool.

Well yeah it looked better because it was full blown remake. I would like to see Twin Snakes on PC officially too, but since that was I think Nintendo funded, we will only see it in emulators.

I have PS3 but I am not going to buy this on a platform I plan to sell next year when replacing it with PS4.
The Plantation 4 is a good choice.

So...how about them apples, eh ?

MGS5 confirmed, let's bring over the HD collection too Konami, what do you say?

A port of the X360 version of the HD Collection is practically assured at this point. MGS4 isn't entirely out of the question, but being a PS3 exclusive it's a taller order due to the extra effort a port would require.

I can't even imagine the coding nightmare MGS4 was, and then unraveling it for a PC release

But you'd better believe I'll buy it

I didn't realize the date and I signed the petition. Then I realized I would have signed it anyway.

Unlike most things, I think this genuinely has a legitimate chance of coming over.

As much as I would like to see it, considering I plan to sell of or donate the PS3 next year, I really doubt MGS4 will ever make it off the PS3 prison. Even if it is not blocked by Sony somehow, I just doubt Konami would have the resolve to do it.
HD collection though, with X360 version it should be much easier to bring over.

Yeah, I agree that it's unlikely. Not impossible, though, so you never know.

Metal Gear Solid 4 also has a ton of very specific PSP/PS3/blu-ray references littered about that I imagine they would want to get rid of. Might not be too hard to change(I know nothing about game development) but it's just one more thing to do.

I'm just hoping we get some sort of MGS1-4 remaster for PS4/XBO at some point in the not too distant future.

Everything that's not exclusive should be on Steam/PC. Especially now, with how similar the consoles/PC are in architecture.

Konami, hope you guys decide to release this like you did Castlevania Mirror of fate.
