I Want to Start a Fight About Ice Cream

Not sure if this counts, but this:

I'm glad I live close enough to Cincinnati to be able to buy Graeter's at Kroger :-) It's good stuff!

I live beside both a Graeter's and a Jeni's.

Like walking distance.

They both have walk-up windows and they're both in my dog walking routes.

It's a blessing and a curse.

Ha! I can't beat that ;-) I wish I lived close enough to a Jeni's to visit one. I got her cookbook on making ice cream at home and have tried several of her recipes (which I liked) but I'm sure it's not quite the same as the real deal :-)

Talenti is top tier. Coconut Chocolate Almond is GOAT. Avoid Halo Top. It isn't ice cream, and they generally taste like garbage (yes, even the Birthday Cake flavor). If you have a craving, just get the real thing.

they ship! lots of bigger US cities have them at their grocery stores. i've seen them all over.

I'm ready to fight someone who says this isn't the best damn mint ice cream available.
You better be ready to fight a buncha dudes, because it's not the best ice cream. It's gelato.

Frozen Custard tops everything posted.

You all lose.

Edit: Aaaaaand like a jackass, I didn't read the OP. As far as nation-wide store bought ice cream goes (US only), any variety of Blue Bell wins. Blackberry Cobbler tops the list for me. (Frozen Custard is still better.)

Naaaah, I fell for the fancy packaging and found out that "gelato" is crap with a ton of thickeners in it. Turkey hill natural mint chocolate chip is much better, half the price for twice as much, and it's thick all on its own, baby

I don't have a Publix where I live, but I was in Lowe's Foods today and those little pints were like $6.50 each. That Peach Biscuit flavor sounds interesting to me. I always wanted to try these, but high and they're small. When I get my finances straight I'm definitely going to give this brand a try at least once.

Shop around if you have multiple nearby grocers. Most stores near me charge $6 for these, but the affordable one charges $4

My mom recently bought an ice cream maker, and she's made some fucking amazing ice cream. I'd say it's some of the best ice cream I've ever had.

Boy!!!! ✋🏿 The fact youre eating mint ice cream tells me you don't want these hands 👊🏿👊🏿. You know who eats mint ice cream bitch ass, romper wearing turds like you. Looking like you eatin ogremon's shit. FIGHT ME!!!!

you're not a bitch, rompers are fine,

The Passion Fruit Layer Cake flavor in particular is insane.

They also do vegan flavors which are great as well.

Technically Gelato, I personally still qualify it but one spoonful of this ice cream in your mouth and you will be making yogurt in your pants.

'You Come at the King, You Best Not Miss'

We have a really good ice cream place right down the street so I don't usually get store bought, but recently I picked up some of these on a whim:

Holy crap they're fantastic. I know these are not strictly what this thread is about, but they're honestly the best ice cream related thing I've seen at a store in years.

Americone Dream is legit! I don't get ice cream that often but I often make an exception for these.

You rich food stamp people buying your steak, lobster and $10 pints of ice cream. Just give me a half gallon of Blue Bell and i'm fine. They have a Brides Cake ice cream thats pretty great, almond flavored ice cream with amaretto and cake pieces.

edit: And the people suggesting Breyers are just wrong for that. That shit isn't ice cream, its ice milk. Don't believe me come back to it after a week in the freezer and check the consistency and texture, its fucking ice milk.

double edit: found it, this is it

nestle, chapmans, breyers and other low end brands are trash tier. they're cheap because they're not ice cream but made from gums. gives you foamy diarrhea.

EDIT: a couple months ago walmart was selling cheese flavor ice cream. it was bright orange so I assume cheddar. did anyone try that?

Let's face it. Everyone has a "local" or "small" place that has good ice cream, pizza, whatever. But I'm talking about stuff you can buy in a grocery store or chain.

That being said, having recently had this:

... I'm ready to fight someone who says this isn't the best damn mint ice cream available. I'm curious to try some other Talenti flavors, because this stuff was a revelation.

Usually with store-bought ice cream I spend more time excavating and looking for the chunks/bits/pieces of whatever they crammed in, but Talenti's actual ICE CREAM is probably some of the best I've had.

Fight me.

You can suggest other brands and flavors to try as well.

That's gelato, not ice cream.
