get going op. Start in march or april for best survival chance.

Is this accurate ? Need to research this route

Maybe before you try something like that, try something more manageable like a 100km country hike.

Nah. I've always been a dumbass like this. I've always held the belief that either go all the way or it ain't worth it.

Kraftwerk, I've often contemplated this exact thing and find myself contemplating it more. Problem is I gotta walk across United States instead. My only fear is getting shot randomly. And those are pretty high odds these days it seems.

Fuck you guys with prairie hate lol. That part is great for walking. Most of the alberta is prairie as well and ontario is no where near as beautiful as bc.

Ontario has some incredible scenery. The route the follows the northern shore of the Great Lakes is gorgeous.

Man, walking solo across the entirety of Canada sounds really overkill for someone who doesn't have much (or any?) experience with this.

I don't know anything about long walking trips but that sounds like a bad idea.

You're absolutely right. Doing this w/out any kind of preparation is a bad idea. You must prepare beforehand by doing a couple of really long hikes where you have to stay overnight & pitch tent somewhere. Get a couple of those under your belt, get a better feel for your limits/body, think long and hard once more then go for it!

Dunno why everyone is assuming I have never gone camping before and don't know how to camp. But I see what you are saying

Didn't mean to assume, was just saying in general.
If you're legit gonna do this though, I hope you blog it somehow. Cause I will use this as motivation 100%. Godspeed.

Yah. I'm gonna grab bunch of spare portable batteries and chargers and hopefully two go pros for video and pictures. I have access to a MacBook Air. I can probably take that and update the blog whenever I have access to wifi.

A lot of the stuff you posted in OP is red flag territory for some depressive disorders, especially getting rid of your belongings and doing this without having done other similar things in the past.

Of course it could be that I have misread the situation, but it might be worth talking to a doctor or a psychologist before you commit to anything if that is possible.

Best of luck!

Start with a smaller goal. Walk from Quebec to Toronto. Keep going if you feel like it. Make sure you keep a credit card in your bag and on your person. Always have a means to get the hell home of something goes wrong.

Having done a long distance walk myself, I will tell you that one of the most surprising and challenging aspects of such an endeavor is loneliness. Not having a conversation with another human being for days on end. Nothing can prepare you for that. It will test your mental fortitude.
