Let me know if it is worth getting for 1 dollar. Yes, I am in a huge crunch money wise right now. X(

I know I really jumped into it, but there's a demo if you want to try. This review makes it at least worth the try... http://www.hookedgamers.com/pc/cricket_revolution/review/article-502.html

EDIT: Mindstorm had been hard at work at an official game of the ICC World Cup - you have to pay to play the tourney game though (US$10 or so) :/

I'm sure it can't be terribad considering how good it looks but still. Must be all that licensing costs. ;p

Yeah, I don't understand the Cook non-inclusion. Surely you would take him over Bopara.

Bopara has a decent record in the Sub-Continent, & (should) score at a faster rate than Cook. England need to be more worried about Anderson, he was shocking at times.

Latest news is ... Punter has smashed a TV after getting out in yesterday's game. He says it wasnt delibrate! lol? Claiming bump catches, he's gone over now ..

Quick review of Cric Rev after one 10-over game - controls take a bit of getting used to, the mechanics overall are quite good, and I'm not sure if it's the time but not many were online. The amount of customisation that could be done to bat (slog, push etc) makes the batting 'hard' but that's more because you need to be quite aware of where the ball is coming from and what to do in the situation. For $1, it's not a bad way to spend the time - there are tournament modes in there as well as leagues. Pity it only goes to 50-over matches (not Tests).

christ, england - i will confess to knowing nothing about the netherlands cricket team but i'm fairly sure they shouldn't be coming close to cracking 300 :/

well that was much tighter than it should have been, on paper i mean, our bowling and fielding were gash. bopara was lucky as hell with that six in the penultimate over too, but nice play by colly to see it out.

lol @ Nasser gloating at "England has successfully chased the third highest score ever in World Cup history" ..

Deep down, he had doubts on England's ability to chase this down!

the pieterson's century really helped England win this match... I can see them having trouble against tougher opponents ie. India in their group.

same. They played very good. I also think world cup is too long. Do two match a day for initial stages at least. This is boring.

Someone is going to lift the trophy six weeks from now.

Expecting a reasonable decision from the ICC is madness.

^ foot ball world cup lasts about the same time with so much more excitement.

2010 FIFA World Cup
..took place in South Africa from 11 June to 11 July 2010.

2011 ICC Cricket World Cup
...19 February – 2 April

Two weeks too long in my opinion.

Is this the worldcup where Australia is finally dethroned?
This is the world cup where south africa finally wins. Lance klusner will be the happiest men on earth. If india wins there will be vacation for everyone. If Australia wins there will be lolz everywhere pointing will become legend.

And now we are friends in arms. :)

I'm behind England though, whose chances of winning are slim enough, not to concern any of their competitors.

that is the only reason i would want India to win. If sachin was not in the team I would not even look at the team. That guy will become something if India wins. But in all honesty I support South africa more than anybody from long time.

England did very poorly against Australia series and Netherlands. They need to go crazy like 20-20 series.

S. Africa have been very unlucky in recent memory, as far as world cups go.

edit: Not even the most avid england fan can spring hope. It's a good thing results have to come about from performances on the day, rather than paper expectations. :P

Just look at today. We did good batting wise, but were appalling in the fielding and bowling areas. And in the last year, we were good fielding and bowling wise, and it was our batting that was lacklustre. :/
Why can't we have the best of both worlds?

haha. The last england team i supported when Nasir Hussein was still around. South africa always had bad luck that is why soft spot for the team. Talent wise they are always good. This year the only thing they are missing is guy like Pollock or Donald in bowling department.

If we win it will probably be the sweetest victory of them all. We ain't that great any more and no one (including me) expects us to win.

But it would continue to ensure the chip remains on the shoulder of the rest of the cricketing world and that would be glorious.

Well, I've enjoyed this otherwise timid start to the WC. Was really rooting for the oranje last night, but alas, the english lads (who still look like they don't give a fuck about 1 day cricket - Strauss ' hey, we won the Ashes, we don't give a shit for the rest of the southern hemisphere's summer!') come good when it mattered.

Still, it's mighty good to see the Aussie cricket team in colours that are far closer to what we should wear domestically (yeah, fuck you CBA). I haven't the confidence to put money on them to go the whole way, but I have the confidence to say that we're gonna win it!

Game seems to be punting along nicely. Wonder how Kenya will go with the bat.

Couple of good games coming up though Aus V NZ and SA vs WI both should be fun.

Piss poor performance from Pakistan, they were lucky that Kenya helped them over 300 with all those juicy extras .. they need to bowl out Kenya under 100 to have a better NRR than New Zealand.

knowing how Pakistan plays... They might make this game close one just like England did. X_X

Kenya collapsing again, seems like the most crap team of all the associates ..

Pak will be 3rd on the table since SL still have a better NRR.

edit: Its all over. Yup, Pak still 3rd in their group.

Saturday's game will decide whether Pakistan goes to the next round comfortably or they will have to work extra hard and become either A3 or A4 teams to go through.

I see:

1. Australia
2. Sri Lanka
3. Pakistan
4. New Zealand

or

Oh wow, you see SL above Pak? Setting low expectations to be on the safe side, are we?

Sri Lanka are mint, really strong team playing in their own back yard. If they lose even one match I'll be shocked during the group stages. I see India fucking up along the way but hope it's now rather then when it matters, here's to hoping they fuck over England something special on Sunday. An India loss with Sachin making 150 will be fine by me as well. :P

Thought WI would get a bit better call. Shame Gayle got out first over.

Proteas got this shit.

Man i'm drunk "call" was meant to be "score".

Anyways SA got the cup....... well its between SA and India. SA has incredible attacking bowling and batting, India has god damn amazing batting and a good bowling attack.

Aus got mediocre to good all round.

I think Aus need to kidnap ten Doeschate.
