If you could play a game for the first time again...

Ultima Online

I'm convinced that no game will ever give me that "wild west" feeling that this game did in its early days.

Dragon Quest VIII. That was a great experience the first time around, and replaying it fresh would be pretty sweet. A large, beautiful world with charming characters and great music. The battles were just too frequent, but nothing that would break my love for the game.

Assuming I could go back in time and forget about everything I've played since (otherwise they wouldn't have the same impact)... probably these games:

- Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, X and XII
- Shadow Hearts I & II
- Kingdom Hearts
- Star Ocean 3
- World of Warcraft
- Legend of Dragoon
- Lost Odyssey
- Dark Souls
- Demon's Souls
- Bloodborne (yes, really)
- Skyrim
- Oblivion
- Fable 2
- Persona 4
- Dragon Quest VIII

Paper Mario 1 & 2 are, I think, the only games I've ever re-played to completion so probably one of those. I imagine playing them new, now, would blow my mind.

Conker's Bad Fur Day. When my brother borrowed the game from his friend, I played the hell out of the multiplayer. Playing it for the first time was great.
Goldeneye

Burnout Paradise, discovering the map and cars again would be fantastic.
Replaying it just isn't the same.

I wish I could re-play Monster Hunter Tri. This time, I would make time to fully experience the multiplayer aspect. No more of that "I need to get gud so I don't embarass myself" bullcrap. I ended up barely touching that part of the game because I had, let's call it performance anxiety.

This time, I'd be the scourge of matchmaking. People would disconnect whenever they saw my nick. I'd be known as the Hunter-catapult. Gatherer-Of-Things. The Hammer carousel. The Staggerer. Combat Griller. And I wouldn't give a shit and play some more.

Also Legend of Mana.
The first time I played it I forgot to insert a memcard. Left it running because I feared my PS1 would crash if I inserted a memcard (hey, it happened before!), and my mom saw the light and switched the console off when I was away. That was some bullshit. Ten or more hours, gone. :'(

GTA Vice City

Batman Arkham Asylum (granted I always think my console or pc die at the section
where everything goes black..... I think oh no.... only for it to come back to life.

Halo 3. It wa the game I bought my 360 for. I had pre-ordered the game even before I had a 360.

I still remember my first multiplayer game when I started it up. Snowbound team swords.

Hey, if we are doing multiple games I'd add Skryim, FFVII, The Last of Us, Fallout 3, Breath of Fire IV, Persona 4, Killzone: Mercenary, Borderlands 2 all into the mix.

That would be my favourite game ever, so Fallout 3.
Emerging into the wasteland the first time, oh my!

Journey.

I played it once, and couldn't bring myself to go back and play it again because it would dilute the experience.

Would love to play it again for the first time....

Demons souls. Game was just amazing to me.

Runners up are donkey Kong country 2 and PT.

Fallout 3

Played it through to completion on ps3 before trophies and then did another 120 hours or so to get the platinum.

Would love to play through it again with a clean slate...I guess Fallout 4 is going to have to do.

I have a hard time choosing between The Legend of Zelda, Fallout and 3d World.

Zelda is the first game I"ve ever played when I was four years old and I'd do.. well, a lot to be able to go through that experience again. It's also the first title in my favourite gaming franchise.
Recently got my nephew hooked on this series by letting him play the first game in the series and A Link Between Worlds and it was a lot of fun seeing him experiencing it all for the first time
Also, I named my pet cockatiel after Princes Zelda.

Fallout is one of my favourite games. I adore its setting and even though Fallout 2 suppasses it in some ways (more content, reputation system and some gameplay refinments) I feel like Fallout is more consistent in tone and quality.
Hell, even another Fallout game with the same tone and similar gameplay would be great... but that's never going to happen because Bethesda. Wasteland 2 released last year but it's just not the same.

3D world is my favourite platforming experience. It oozes with charm and it's an absolute joy to play through from start to finish. I'd love to experience it all for the first time again but I guess 3D world 2 is the most I can hope for.

There are some other games I'd love to experience fresh again, but those are definitely the top three, but notnecessarily in that order.
