How can you notice someone not posting?

Also, no, obviously.
This. I think if you got banned in a huge thread you'd have a better chance of being noticed.

GAF too big to cry over spilt milkz.

hmm. maybe portions of Apple Gaf might notice if i stopped posting. but there's a big difference between "noticing" and "making a thing about it". I doubt there's be any reason for the latter.

Yep, this is the extent of it for me as well, I think. There would be a pretty big hole in the iPhone thread if either of us quit posting.

I like to think of you two as a pair of lovebirds, or creepy guys that stalk each other. I'm pretty convinced that if one of you went missing, the other would follow suit within days, if not hours.

No, I don't think anyone would notice. Neither would I notice anyone else stopping posting, save for maybe Onkel.

Not really sure why you'd want to be recognized here.

With the exception of the mods and a few select members (Drinky Crow, OnkelC, etc.), most of the time, most members who are remembered years after they've last been active are remembered poorly. On a high volume traffic board, to be memorable, you'd have to do something big and knowing GAF, it probably has to be heinous.

Example: The Wispy Scoundrel made vids where hundreds of thousands of guys spanked it to them but I guarantee you that more people on GAF will remember KiNeSiS knocking over the magazine rack instead.

Speaking of..... I had some free time earlier tonight.

  • Thread Domination Index: Which threads are dominated by a particular user?
  • Poster Exposure Index: Similar to the TDI, but takes into account the popularity of the thread (by views and total number of replies). Threads which are extremely popular are weighted more favourably.

I believe that if users listed in the above charts disappeared, their absence would definitely be noted by followers of those threads. Of course this doesn't describe general notability, only those posters who dominate the discussion in particular subcommunitys. It's also only applied on a single thread basis, so wouldn't include the combined influence of things like Kassatsu's weekly PSN threads.

I'll do Off-Topic threads next.

TDI graph says yep.

How the hell did I not make any of those?

I'm slipping

Individually, it might be hard to notice, but if everyone in this thread bailed en masse GAF might look a little different.

Nobody ever notices me, so I don't think GAF will be any different.

Some of you people are way too hard on yourselves.

But not you, NetMapel. You're right on target.
Kidding! I would miss your posts :)

Yes, definitely. Because fanboys and idiots would start getting away with tons of BS without being called out.

the hell?

Tobor's a good poster but I'm not sitting here smearing lipstick over his avatar and crying myself to sleep while gorging on a pint of Hagen Daas.

I prefer Ben and Jerry's

Of course. To tell the truth, I don't even enjoy posting on GAF anymore. I only continue for the sake of all my fans.
