IGN Does Android

it's too bad ign has a shitty layout. you click reviews and there is no way to separate iphone games from android games. talk about confusion. (and they don't even have android in the title until you click on the review).

iPhone 4 is the new Windows Vista anyway.

But I'm one to talk, I'm still rocking my old Curve :lol

Android is tempting though, hows the Droid X? Or wait for iPhone Version?
Ahh, decisions.

I'm with AT&T so I'm getting the new Samsung captivate with Super AMOLED and 16gigs of flash.

With current battery technology you're SOL on finding a phone with a 4+ inch screen with a Snapdragon or greater processor that has a battery life over a day. That is pretty much the territory of flip phones and just the way it is, outside of the iPhone 4. That's only a 3.5" display or some such, still, that has the best battery life of any modern smartphone that I know of.

If you wanted 3 days of moderate use out of the EVO's battery it'd probably weigh about 10-12 ounces instead of the 6 ounces it weighs now, and that article was already mentioning how it was heavy. So people want to have huge displays, uber quick response times, high resolution, great mobile gaming graphics, and have 3 days of battery life. It's just not happening without a pretty big breakthrough in battery technology.
The Samsung Captivate does.

[GAME RECOMMENDATIONS]

Cool! Thanks for the recommendations man. The only ones I had so far were Space Physics, Abduction!, and Nesoid Lite. I can't believe I never thought about downloading Solitaire. I wonder if there is a good Freecell game on the market.

You guys have Drop7? Cool beans. Get on that Android dudes.

What's it like? I've never heard of the game before. It's $3 on the market.

Glad to see the system getting some coverage, just got my Droid X, so looking for games. :D

EDIT: Is N.O.V.A. out? I don't see it on the MP.

All but one or two of the Gameloft games are only available via Gameloft's website. Which is perplexing as to why they wouldn't want to put them where they would sell many more copies. As it is though, they can control them on their website much more so than on the Android marketplace where you can easily get refunds if you don't like something, install on different phones IIRC, etc. With them, if you download it and ever have to wipe your device to reinstall (or to get a new ROM), then you're SOL and have lost your money.

Gotcha, only issue is the NOVA page is 404 error on my browser on my PC, and GameLoft's site shows no games available for my Droid X on the mobile browser. Maybe it isn't quite available yet.

Every time I read reviews of these new phones and statements like the bolded above, my smartphone boner fizzles out into a floppy noodle. God damn that is some shitty battery life. Am I shit out of luck if I'm waiting for phones that last at least 3 days with moderate use?

you shouldnt really be at all interested in smartphones then

Now, what T-Mobile Android phone will play games such as "N.O.V.A." and the like? I have a G1 and... yeah, it can hardly play any of the new games on the market :/
I wish T-Mobile had some version of the droid or EVO. ):

They have a version of the Samsung new phone that just came out that's better than my EVO or the Droid X (at least comparable). Vibrant I believe?

I don't know, I have NES emulators on... like... every device I own and I have Excitebike ROMs on all of them. I haven't hooked up my actual NES in maybe 5 or 6 years. I own an Excitebike cart, of course.

There's no doubt that a lot of people out there are going to be downloading FULL A-Z EVERY NES GAMEZ.TORRENT or whatever, but just speaking for myself I own the cart and I intend on playing the game on any system I feel like playing it on. I haven't played any NES on my phone because it doesn't have a keyboard so it's not exactly convenient, but if I had a phone with buttons I probably would.

Wait, did you transfer the ROM yourself? How did you get the ROM?
