IGN first: Bloodborne character creator detailled

Will never come to pc, just like Demon Souls. Unless Sony wants it to. Sony funded this game. The only reason i bought a ps4 at launch instead of xbox was in case another souls game came exclusively to ps4. I missed out on demons souls and am still annoyed by that. Hope for a remaster or ps now at the very least. Bloodborne was announced few months after my purchase. Made the right decision.

With Sony selling SOE, seems like they're done with PC market for now.

Dont give them any ideas

With their history of tone deaf behavior, I very much doubt any employees of note are even curious about what enthusiasts think.

I'm not advocating the port, I just don't agree with the justification that IP ownership is as significant. Mobile is a direct competitor to Sony (especially to the Vita) as much as PC is, and there's been support for that on Sony platforms.

I'm not saying it WILL happen, nor do I CARE to, I'm saying IP ownership is not valid enough of an argument.
.

But it is as long as Sony doesn't want Bloodborne on another platform. They've recently sold off SOE, which makes their intentions regarding the PC market seem abundantly clear. Mobile isn't a direct competitor to PS4 and Vita hasn't had full support for some time now. If Bloodborne ever comes to PC, it won't be until it's of no use to Sony's console vision. Just look at Demon's Souls. A PC port wouldn't hurt them at this point, yet it doesn't exist.

I keep asking this, and never get an answer.. but how does equipment work? Can you equip armor/cloaks/hats/etc.?
It's the same as all souls games. 4 armor pieces.
What's different is that, unless this has been changed, weapons now have designated hand-placements as in 'right-hand' or 'left-hand'.

I believe equipment works largely the same as regular souls games, except that left hand and right hand are not ambiguous. melee weapons that have transforming aspects are in right hand, and guns and tricks are in left hand. (it allows for something like a torch to not be circumvented by just putting weapons in the other hand, which was the flaw of the mechanic in the DS2 engine) L1 and L2 have different functions in this game than they did before.

Why, what was streamlined to have you worried?

I think there's always the concern that equipment gets dumbed down to remove player personality in favor of "making it easier for schlubs to not get scared of stat numbers"

I think it was pretty scary that the fmv opened DS2 with a male character, though the non-issue of gender in actual gameplay is a pretty funny subversion.

For some reason I was always a bit apprehensive that Bloodborne would veer more towards 'character action games' than a proper action rpg experience like Demon's Souls.

Now that I hear shields are back, and you can definitely customize/equip characters, I'm more than relieved!

I guess they have talked about making it more accessible, but that could just be referring to the more "attack is the best form of defence" nature.

I still think the best is:
That would fly over so many people's head, but some great fucking puns right there.

A PS4 remaster is always possible :p

I don't see why they couldn't release one during the slow summer months. Not much competition at that time. Or are you one of those hoping to see a SCWWS title magically make the leap to the PC. If so, your heart will remain broken my friend.

uh, no. That wasn't the implication at all. I've owned demon's souls for years and love it. but a ps4 remaster would be amazing that it breaks my heart it probably won't happen. That is all i meant.

People here are too used to concern trolling and port begging.

It's gotta be done! It's subtle, yet genius!
"Are we sure it's a PS4 exclusive?" has been done to death now, and only serves to fan the flames. It's not that funny anymore...

Hate the accents.

'Ere! We got ourselves a royt scallywag!

A propah rotta if evah there was one. Bog off, you slaaag. Lahndaaahhhnnn!
