IGN first: the music of Bloodborne

Sony Japan are currently playing the game

http://live.nicovideo.jp/watch/lv209641970

They're in the character creator right now.

One interesting thing of note from this livestream is that we got to see one uncut loading screen. It was about 15 seconds. Unfortunately they stopped playing right as they were about to encounter another one. After DS2 on PS3's 25-30 second load times, I'd be quite content with 15. Also, kinda funny, the "Waste of skin" class's original Japanese text is "Shouldn't have been born."

Speaking of graphics, aren't we supposed to get some type of update today on how the visuals have improved from the build IGN is showing?

The build they used in the nico nico stream is apparently different(newer?). Thye insight stat has a counter in the top right corner underneath blood echoes now

Speaking of vampires, I would give anything to see FROM tackle the subject matter. Preferably in crafting the truly dark and disturbing Castlevania that we deserve.

I would love to seem them take control of the Legacy of Kain franchise. I Blood Omen remade by From.....omg!!!

Fantastic music. As others have said The Order soundtrack seems to be immense as well. It's good to see music get the proper treatment, recorded with a full orchestra and not just computers etc. Music makes a huge impact in my enjoyment, or not, of certain games. I'd not even go near Destiny if the menu music (Log in screen and in-orbit tunes) were crap. They really set a tone and mood and just sound so good you com back for more.

Well the MC of Bloodborne injects themselves with blood to gain health so...

I suppose it could be more referencing the medical uses of blood transfusions but we already have werewolves in the game...

Music sounds fantastic so far but there is a really interesting tidbit on the PlayStation Blog concerning the composer of this game. Or should I say... composers.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/02/13/the-otherworldly-music-of-bloodborne/

At the bottom of the post, Doud says that the music was composed by musicians at From Software as well as multiple guest musicians. I am really looking forward to when the soundtrack (and the game!) is released!

abbey road? goddamn they're not sparing expenses

Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but is it too late to acquire a collectors edition of Bloodborne? I know gamestop seems to be out of them, but I was wondering if I still have a chance with Amazon. Going to the page for the CE shows that I can still pre-order it. does Amazon have a good reputation for delivering on collector editions of games?

So the Piranha 3D guy is one of many guest composers?

Damn this is some God-tier OST so far. Japanese games really have some of the best if not the best music. And this composer isn't even a Japanese guy! Really happy for this OST it sounds amazing!

Actually it says it's composed by a Japanese guy in the credits and the PSN blog says there's a bunch of "guest" composers working on this.

Fucking tense. I have chills. Look at the intensity. Don't just hear it. Knowing that's what recording of the soundtrack LOOKS like while playing the game will be amazing.

But the composer is Michael Wandmacher

The music was composed by in-house composers at From Software as well as multiple guest composers.

I neeeed this noooooow! I can't even tell you how amazing it is to find out that my game of the year's soundtrack is a live recorded orchestra. This could put Dark Souls to shame.

I'm surprised Kida never got much/any work after Demon's Souls. Hoping to see a track or two from him here.

And I think Michael Wandmacher might be another contributor considering the source on Wikipedia leads to this page:

https://web.archive.org/web/20140812203156/http://michaelwandmacher.com/music-for-bloodborne-on-ps4/

Michael has just finished contributing score to the upcoming blockbuster game, BLOODBORNE. The game is from FROM SOFTWARE, known for the Dark Souls and Demon Souls games, and will be released in 2015 exclusively for Sony Playstation.

Implying he's only doing a few tracks as well?

The first comment of the Youtube video was actually pretty good for once. I don't know how accurate the translation is or anything, but it was definitely interesting.

I love how the lyrics are latin. At 1:53 you can hear them singing

rete sanguine male, prae ista honos sanguine sancte, praetor

"This (cob)web of sick blood,
our honor (is) the holy blood.
(We are) the defenders."

...They sing that two times. There's no way though to understand what the women are singing, too sharp. The parts in brackets have to be guessed, as often when you translate latin lyrics into modern languages. After all, latin is kind of a language of "thought", where the meaning of a sentence originates from its nouns combined. You gotta use imagination to understand it.

I wonder if the "cobweb" points towards the invader aspect of the game. Most likely though. The universe of Bloodborne is held together by the blood curse and players can traverse into other realms this way, like in Dark Souls.

I need this game in my veins. I wish the soundtrack in the deluxe edition was physical though...
