Outside of Bioshock and Galaxy I find that top ten to be some the biggest bullshit in a while.

Brawl, BatMan and Read Dead and ME2 being incredibly out of place given the other content that has come out during this generation.

The fascinating thing about these lists is that they simultaneously bore/irritate people while also serving as catalysts for thread after thread. People spend way more time bitching about the ranks assigned to arbitrary things than they do praising articles on websites like Gamasutra.

Fits pretty well in with most of the other top 10 such as RDR, UC2, B:AA, AC2, etc. All these titles also scored very well on Gaf's GOTY too.

I don't agree with the list, but it does name most of the notable titles for the group it appeals to.

When you take ideas that you started in a game made about Star Wars and took it to a new universe which is basiclly Star Wars with out the liscene that doesn't seem that hard.

Also, was Halo suppose to be this "Generations" Star Wars or some shit?

Ass Creed 2 shouldn't be on that list. The Ass Creed games just have terrible controls. I've played three of those games and still don't understand how the hell the controlls work.

why not wait till the actual end of the generation before making this list so that it's most relevant? it's just a games of the generation list under a fancy name anyway as 'modern game' is a pretty nebulous concept in general, but especially here with megaman 9 sitting on this list.

also it seems silly to try and list the best 100 modern games yet implement an arbitrary one game per series rule. that's only useful for making top 10 lists more diverse and interesting, but here it just makes this list less useful. for example if i skipped this generation so far or skipped lots of games and wanted to find out the best games released in that period from the biggest gaming site, having no mass effect 1 or galaxy 1 is annoying as i'd want want to know if they are worth playing too. then if i assume they are because the sequels are listed then i don't know to miss stuff like assassins creed 1.
