Edit - Oh, okay, it's just announcing the overall GOTY winner. Galaxy's the best thing since sexual intercourse so I'm glad it won.

I haven't played it, but... it'd have to literally give me a blowjob to topple Galaxy for me. Naturally, I said nothing would beat Bioshock for me either, so who knows!

I really doubt Uncharted could do it though, but it's clearly an uninformed opinion until I give it a shot.

As you guys said, SMG IS the best game of 2007. Undoubtedly. It earned every ounce of GOTY recognition it has received and thensome.

galaxy was too easy and i think that's what made uncharted better for me. uncharted challenged me, and personally that's a big part of why i play games in the first place.

Actually I posted the thread before I even knew who had won. Secondly, I still don't know what game was my favorite of 07. It's still an extremely tight race between CoD4, Bioshock and Galaxy.
 
Mass Effect should have won. It's the first RPG since the late 90's when we got grandia, FF7, Fallout, BG, and torment to evolve the genre. The game made a meteor-like impact on a genre that had grown stale.
 
Color me surprised, would have thought Bioshock was a shoe-in. So completely deserving though, Galaxy is the best game to come out in a long long time. Nice to see the major publications and sites making the right choice. Who's left? EGM? I'm thinking Bioshock again there, but with all the Galaxy love going around who knows?

Well it's the best reviewed game of the year isn't it? Even slightly over Galaxy? And it isn't like Galaxy is overly difficult either...

I thought Bioshock has been overrated quite a bit.

My top 5:

1. Uncharted
2. Super Mario Galaxy
3. The Orange Box
4. Mass Effect
5. Call of Duty 4

I honestly don't think Bioshock was even top 5 this year. Great game, but there were other games that were even better. I don't think Bioshock was even top 3 on the 360 this year, let alone the best game overall.

Great win for Super Mario Galaxy.

I havent finished Galaxy yet, but good lord is this game easy. Practically have to force myself to pick up the controller because the game has ZERO difficulty. Get bored within 20 minutes. But hey if people like that, then more power to them.

Orange Box is my GotY, by far.
 
I don't get it how Mass Effect can be in there and not Uncharted. Same for Orange Box. Value for money isn't everything.
