IIRC, turning off v-sync just gives the developers a few extra frames per second. So if it's off, they're barely squeeking by with 30fps.
 
uhh. Was the demo on xbl updated? The demo i tried had no real drops in framerate or screen tearing problems..

Except Moto GP 06 runs (mostly) at 60fps.

Been playing this game all night. Kinda loving it right now. I love the fact that you really have to work your virtual body on the bike to leverage the physics on corners. Graphics are just dandy too, hovering around the realm of PGR3... maybe the tracks aren't as detailed but I think the character models, bikes, and crash animations look pretty damn good.
