I've see people here on Neogaf incensing worst games. :D

A JRPG Lover without a Xbox 360 during the past generations was actually losing about a half of valid titles, no reason for not owning one.

Nah, the value of 360 has always been Japanese
action games.

Well... my idea is... if someone enjoys "Musou" games, then most probably he could have appreciated 99 Nights 1/2, Infinite Undiscovery and maybe even Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom.

Yet, we are going straight into OT territory. :)

Actually, none of their titles were Xbox exclusive. They started out on the PC, then ported a few of those games to the 360 (Labyrinth Cross Blood, Students of Round) and other platforms. Stranger was originally announced as a 360 exclusive, but they then added the PC and Vita versions before it was released.

Console exclusive is what I meant they have always been a PC dev. Just more of an answer as to why they went with XBO and not PS4. Seems to be more of a familiarity and they seem to have a good relationship with Microsoft.

Not exactly Xbox exclusives as Students of Round came out on the PSP also.

Would not say its "easier" as things have not really changed since the 360 days. So the situation is pretty much the same as it was. Though Sony being a pain with going through the various regional "Sony" has not really changed either. But at least both are not as much of a headache as they used to be with both sides of the party now really wanting titles under them.

For smaller companies I'd say a single submission process is probably a significantly easier situation than Sony's regional process. I mean hell even Sony exclusives like Galak z even ran into issues. It sounds like a giant pain.

Its still the same just that due to both parties wanting titles its easier to get things waived during the submission process depending. Though that may require patching down the line as part of the deal. Nothing with the process itself has really changed drastically. Well outside things having to do with the new functionality and terminology with both of the next gen systems, but that is a given when it comes to new hardware.

Reason for them not focusing on the pc market as much anymore is due to the market domestically not being exactly the most healthy thing from their standpoint. Steam is not part of their business plan currently and they are busy focusing on the consumer gaming side of things.

This is good news. I've been wanting to check out Experience's stuff, but that art change is not cool. The whole reason I was interested is because their games had a nice mature art style, not more moe shit.

The Xbox 360 had an excellent 13 months for JRPGs in the US from August 2007 to August 2008 - Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata (exclusive at the time), Lost Odyssey, and Tales of Vesperia. Got Star Ocean IV a few months after that as well (long before the better PS3 version was released). Unfortunately, Microsoft stopped giving incentives to JRPG devs to release on the 360 and so after that, it mostly just got ports.

The 360 was amazing for rpgs initially. I only bought a PS3 once ir became apparent this move had failed and they were no longer going to get exclusives. Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are the only reason I still own my Xbox 360. Never did get the PS3 version of Star Ocean, in what way was it better? Never really felt like replaying after the first time through.

Mostly minor enhancements here and there. Biggest things were probably Japanese voice option, Japanese portrait option (the 360 version "Westernized" all the character portraits), and being on one disk. Not really worth buying again unless you really love the game.

Microsoft is trying hard to get me to buy one. I probably will, but I was hoping to wait a long time until I finally caved.

+ 2 playable character right?

I'm not even sure what this post means tbh, but yes... there was certainly a window last gen where 360 was the best option for JRPGs, but ultimately, by the end of the gen it's library was arguably the weakest of the gen for that particular genre.

After Vesperia came out, the JRPG scene on 360 just dried up dramatically. Whereas on every other platform, in the back half of the gen the best was still to come.
