(IGN) What To Expect From Xbox In 2022

People don't still realize how big Starfield will probably be.

Just like Bethesda's other IPs(TES, Fallout) it will probably generate colossal waves across the industry, place itself into pop culture and be played for a decade.

Definitely the most exciting game of next-gen for me. Followed by Avowed and Fable.

In what reality is Hellblade 2 coming out next year? The game was still in pre production in june

Nothing about that says they were in 'pre-production'.

Pre-production stage in video game development is mainly focused on crystallizing plans etc, and pre-production usually ends before content creation. meanwhile for hellblade, they've started content creation quite a while ago. They've been doing Mocap and photogrammetry since before that article was captured.

All the games I'm looking forward to on xbox/gamepass next year are

It also doesn't say its anywhere close to being done.

On this very same page there are people saying FF16 is a 2023 game while stated its in polishing stages while people are confident a game that hasn't entered full production and has very little gameplay is a 2022 game

Provide a source that the game hasn't entered full production yet.

Also, you must learn not to think that snapshots shown in public events are fully representative of the current state of development.

Talks about,

Xbox Cloud Box/Dongle
More Special Edition Series X and S consoles
Elite V3 Controller
Built in Xcloud Support for TV.
Studio Acquisitions
Elite Headset
Elite Keyboard and Mouse.

My PC is ready can't wait MS

Edit: still cautious about starfield

Great video. A lot of interesting things in the works. I wonder if Elite v3 will have advanced rumble and upgrades like that?

post a source or any kind of proof that it has. If it were slated for next year they would be screaming it from the rooftops in marketing. a coming 2022 would have been on that gameplay trailer at the game awards if it were

How fast can they get a new Gears out? That franchise was on fire during the 2010s and it dropped like flies basically last gen.

Off the top of my head I am very much looking forward to STALKER 2 and expect it to be pretty amazing.
I'm very much so interested in the game on an academic level, as it's gonna be the first made from ground up UE5 game.

I don't expect it to fully utilize all of UE5's bells and whistles, but it should still be a good first-look at how the engine performs on console(s).

Windows Central top 5 for 2022, they have Avowed as late 2022 or early 2023.

https://www.windowscentral.com/top-5-xbox-exclusives-im-hyped-and-why

"The future of Xbox is very bright, and with all the Xbox and PC exclusives on the way, Microsoft's is poised to continue succeeding well into 2022 and beyond. Between tense and atmospheric games like STALKER 2, exploration-driven RPGs like Starfield, and unique, down-to-earth experiences like As Dusk Falls, there's a lot to be excited for if you're an Xbox gamer."

First time since like 2005 that actually Xbox is the most exciting console for me.

Not just for the games that are slated for release like Starfield and Hellblade 2 but also that I'm curious about what is upcoming like Avowed. Feels like MS is investment is finally starting to pay off… or Jim Ryans influence at Sony is starting to show. Dunno…

Will probably pick up an XSX for Starfield......if.......it's actually a deep rpg.I wonder what the chances of that are about now.

Easily the most interesting game of next year is Stray, but I will get that on PS5.

Stalker 2, Elden ring and everwild + Starfield for XSX, because they come in the GP so why not as they are "free"+ starfield + everwild(?) is exclusive anyway.

And then some pc+xbox crossplay stuff, assuming they add something interesting.
I personally like more of Sony style "story driven cinematic games" more than car/shooter multiplayer genre, but also having xbox adds variety so it feels complete package.
+ it seems that Xbox is having more games for my taste coming than before, which is great.

Next year will be great for people with PS5 + Xbox, it cover 99% of good games :messenger_relieved:

If starfield is as good as it sounds, it could be on my top 3 of 2022.

Stray + elden ring + everwild + starfield + PS5 exclusives are already more than enough for 1 year to make it epic

I want to see State of Decay 3 and what those InXile guys are doing. They made one of the best WRPGs in recent years without even being fully absorbed into MS, with proper budget they can make something truly memorable.

Some sort of Streaming handheld and being able to stream your whole game collection instead of just Gamepass games, that would be great news!

". I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft piggybacks marketing Xbox Cloud Gaming on top of an exclusive cloud-native game, although that could be further out than 2022. Microsoft is thought to be working with ex-Google Stadia employees and Hideo Kojima of Metal Gear Solid fame on what exactly a cloud-native game would look like, and it could make a compelling case for the debut "cloud-first" Xbox game as part of a big marketing push."

"Other possible candidates for 2022 gameplay reveals include Contraband from Avalanche, along with Avowed and Pentiment from Obsidian. We may also see more in-depth gameplay from Hellblade II at some point as well."

"If all of these studios show up in a big way for Xbox next year, it could really start to shift the weight of FOMO towards Microsoft's platform, as gamers realize that Xbox is once again a place for high-quality exclusives."

I don't think that Forza or Hellbladewill release next year. I am also sceptical on Microsofts other RPGs like Avowed and no way is Fable near release either.

I'm looking forward to Redfall, Stalker and Starfield. Plus some new content for Halo MP. I don't even know what else is coming.

That's confirmed? I haven't heard anything about it in months, maybe a year. I'm interested in it with Remedy's involvement.

I don't even know what this game is about, but I know it's from Remedy and since I like everything I've ever played from them, I'm super excited for Crossfire X.

Is Stalker 2 really going to be that good? never played the original so I dont know what I am getting into.

Just the fact that it's coming to consoles means it's probably gonna be a lot more accessible than the first few PC only games.

I reckon it'll feel more like the recent Metro games than the old-school STALKER games, if I were to take a guess.

Now, of course, this is gonna piss off a good number of the purists and original fans, but honestly I tried but could never get into them.

Nothing, they are finally going out of business because that Spencer guy just keeps telling lies and the whole project is in complete disarray.

On a serious note, I think we are finally going to see "xbox TVs" where you would only need to connect a controller and you are in thanks to cloud.
