Hi friend, I can't imagine how frustrating it must be having to turn onto rt 59 every single day. You must have the patience of a saint.

Yeah there is a cop out front of my store directing traffic every evening. It gets fucking brutal. Luckily I'm outta there every day at 2 so it isn't bad.

Love seeing all these Lake County GAFFers, I had no idea!! Dave and Busters Vernon hills would make for a prime meetup!

Charleston is cool too, we used to 'cruise the strip' between the HS and McDs on Lincoln. The spillway is a sweet spot to fish.


I miss it sometimes, I could reeeeally go for a horseshoe right about now. (Or some Casey's pizza)

We (the poster you are replying to is my brother) broke into Ashmore Estates years ago. No acid, but it was pretty cool. We actually ran into another group sneaking out there as well. The upstairs was missing a massive chunk of the roof and all this metal was dangling and blowing in the wind, making terrible spooky noises. There was also an open elevator shaft waiting to kill someone.

Shortly after, a weird dude bought the place, fixed it up, and turned it into a haunted house. Pretty lame. I don't know what's up with it now. Some years back a tornado hit out that way and took the whole roof off. Area folk chipped in to get it fixed, and then he sold the place, I think.

There's apparently a cemetery right by it that I've never seen. Must be pretty small and hidden away enough that I've never noticed.

There is a ton of spooky stuff around, though a lot of the old abandoned churches and schools have fallen down.

Well hey! Most of my time in Geneva is just driving through, but I'm a big fan of the Fox River Distilling Company. Wife and I went on a "Geneva Day" with a few localish folks a year or so ago and checked out the museum, library, distillery, y'know the usuals. Nice place!
