Don't grow a full beard when you're 18 anyway

This.
It's ridiculous on a 18 y/o. It makes you look like a "herpaderp look at me how grownup i am" when you essentially still have a face of a teenager.
You might be in luck though, I myself have a full beard but there are some days where i wish i could be facebald.

I'm in my mid 30's and have no beard hairs on both sides. Only can grow a goatee.
Funny enough i still get more beard hairs every year tho. So maybe by the time i'm 75 i can grow a full beard.

Also have almost no hairs under my armpits.

My beard growth has been out of control since I was 17, I have to shave way too often. I guess it's fine if I ever wan a full beard though.

i started getting facial hair like crazy around 17 or so, now that i'm 26 it's gotten even a bit, i can grow a pretty fantastic and even beard across the entire face in a weeks' time.

It's entirely dependent on a dice roll of genetics. If you have Asian or Native American heavy influence on your genetics, lol to facial hair for example

Also, at 18, you're likely not even finished with puberty yet. You generally complete it as a male around 23 or 24, some people as late as 30. It doesn't all happen for everyone between 14 and 17.

I've been able to grow a full beard since I was about 15. You'd think that's great, but at that age a beard is worthless but to make you look like a goober, and you get to know the joy of shaving daily. Forever. In my 20's though it came in handy for altering my look and attracting different kinds of women, and even now once in a while I say fuck it and let it grow for a few weeks and take it to work. It only takes about 1 week to grow the whole thing out, and 3 weeks for it to be full enough to trim and style. Again, in the long run way more of a pain to maintain, but at this point I'm obviously used to it. I will admit I don't envy men who can't even grow some fuzz, as it means they're stuck with the same face all the time.

I'm 30 and I can't grow a full beard. What takes me a month to grow for beard stubble takes others a day or two. From there it seems like it stops. I can grow the goatee from there though but I typically never shave it, just trim, because it takes so long to grow back.

Lately my barber has been keeping a stubble look on me. I have to say I like it. I'll probably be 40 or 50 before I can have a competent beard going since I didn't actually start growing facial hair until I was in my early to mid 20's.

I know both sides of this. I have brothers that can't grow full facial hair, and a husband who can't stay clean shaven because he damn near has a full beard at the end of every day.

I'd say the second is more annoying, since he hates shaving constantly.

It is more a genetic thing then an age thing. My brother beard growth is shit, but mine is pretty nice. Give me less then a month, and I got a nice full beard.

Please, I'm 29 and I can't grow a beard period. There's not enough beardhair on my face to grow even the beard that Shaggy from Scooby-Doo has. You'll be fine.

I'm 24 and I can't even grow sideburns. I actually asked my doctor about it and he said that, given that my primary sexual characteristics are normally developed, it's nothing to worry about and it's just genetics.

Oh well, I guess I would like to experiment with some facial hair styles but then again shaving can be an annoyance I suppose, so I'm not complaining.

I'm 24 and my facial hair just grows along my jaw line and down on my neck. I couldn't grow a full beard of goatee if I wanted to

I'm 34 and I can't grow a beard, have this weird patch of skin just under my chin which does not grow and the hair feels as soft as a baby's. I comfort myself knowing no one wants to see a ginger beard, plus my hair is starting to go silver now.

I'm jealous OP. I had a full beard at 15. I'd rather have little to no facial hair. You'll probably look more youthful in your later years as well.

My beard grows in all patchy and I'm fine with that. I can grow a goatee just fine but goatees are like the mullets of this generation. I wouldn't be caught dead with a goatee.

I also suffer from this horrible condition!

You already have more facial hair than me at 25. So F you.
But no. You should not be worries. Worst case scenario, you'll always have a patchy beard. Best case scenario, it fills in over time. 18 is nothing. Hell I couldn't grow anything remotely worth being called facial hair at 18.

OP, I'm nearly 37 and I cannot fully grow a beard. I have these annoying spots just below my lip where there's no growth.

Dont worry too much about it.

A lot of men keep developing facial hair well into their late 20s.

You've got far more than the typical 18 year old, I can assure you.

I was 14 when I noticed beard starting to come in.... *sighs* I'm now 33, it grows fast but I don't shave very offen. Once in 1-2 months.

No. Everyone is different, some people I know didn't have much facial hair at all and then bam, it exploded at 23-25. It's just straight genetics though, look at your family for an inkling of the future.

In all likelihood, your patchy spots will stay patchy but your beard will get a little more dense/thicker as you hit your 20s.

You'll likely be that way the rest of your life. Some, perhaps most, people are just born that way. If you can't stylize it in any way, you might want to look into shaving.
