Wait but I thought on gaf British food was bland and flavorless and anglo-cuisine owes everything to the superior food cultural the non-west.

Because of the empire brit food is possibly the biggest fusion food in the world.

And the 'bland' thing is a product of a 50's/60's/70's britain that culturally saw food as sustenance and not aesthetically. This was not helped by post war baby boom all growing up with rationing.

Since the 80's food culture has exploded. Nowadays there's hardly anyone who doesn't think they'd do well on Masterchef
