Zelda is clearly the best game in decades but these pics are very misleading.

The suns position is the greater difference here causing the shadows to be not seen in the bottom pic and nothing but shadows in the top pic.

Well its very difficult to get a clear shot of the same shadow position, I don't think it was intentional. However, if you look at everything that is not shadowed, the texture does not look any sharper compare to BoTW
