Imageepoch is officially dead - bankruptcy proceedings announced

I have a feeling it's going to be gone very soon. Look at what happened to the R-Type games.

Fate/Extra and Black Rock Shooter were two of my favorite PSP games, they developed a lot of great PSP titles. Hopefully, some of them will get fan-translated sooner rather than later (I'm looking at you, Sol Trigger and Last Ranker).

Are these the only 2 games on PSN by them then? (Not including the game banned on gaf)

...Damn, it probably is, isn't it?

Yep. And they tanked its success in the West with that audio equivalent of a live disemboweling. Had anyone else taken the rights to publish outside of Japan, we might be telling a different tale about them.

I wonder if there's anything worth paying for to salvage in the remains.

Doubt there's much. Luminous Arc and Arc Rise Fantasia should be owned by Marvelous. 7th Dragon, Sands of Destruction and now Stella Glow are owned by SEGA. Criminal Girls seems to be owned by NIS. Most of the other stuff was licensed games. So that leaves them with Toshin Toshi, Tale of the Last Promise, and Sol Trigger and none of those seem to be big sellers. They're maybe worth it if they can get it for dirt cheap

RIP Imageepoch.

We had some good times.

And then we had a lot of bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad times.

So many bad times.

oh god

so many

I'm still salty that Xseed lost the right to publish against Ignition.

Granted that they released Toshin Toshi in Japan I still wonder how much of the rights Alicesoft also holds? Esp now that IE is dead.

Ignition also fucked up Muramasa. The script in that game is so dry I remember falling asleep during some of the dialogue.

On one hand, it's been oblivious where this was heading for a while now.

On the other hand - darn, I wanted Arc Rise Fantasia 2 , as long as Ignition wouldn't be involved.

RIP savior of JRPGs.

Not that you actually saved anything.

Their JRPG! logo is priceless.

Welp, this just made me buy black rock shooter the game.

It is currently vita compatible, if it is delisted will it suddenly not be vita compatible?

I didn't know about the CEO just peacing out of existence. Wonder if it was the golden parachute type, but that's kind of hard to believe.

It's kinda crazy, a company like nintendo or sony, or maybe even capcom and square enix can easily get rid of that debt, 11 million is like a drop in the bucket.

I hope the employees migrate to Sega, like how Marvelous picked up Neverland's folks after its closure. :(

I think they just kinda went all over the place. The workers that is. Which usually is the case when studios go poof here.

That and in some cases a lot of employees are contracted per project. Rather than being full time.

Fate Extra, Arc Rise Fantasia and BRS were all incredibly fun. Sad to see them go, hopefully the staff find gainful employment elsewhere.

From Software!

Those aren't really JRPGs in the traditional sense. If anything, they're all mostly dark fantasy games with loose RPG elements. Loose because you can beat the games without really pouring things into such systems, if you're crazy enough.

Well... Only thing I ever liked from them was Fate/Extra. I'd say I'll miss it, but it's not like CCC was going to come west.

Or maybe akysys will pick it up for dirt cheap as the company shuts down.
