Implosion: Never Lose Hope coming to Switch in July

Doing the Hard difficulty is a bit of a grind, fair warning. You do so little damage if you don't keep the mech level high!

That said, with more skills unlocked and Rage, Crimson remains unilaterally better than Avalon to a startling degree. It just has so many more abusable cancel-able frames that don't get you stuck in animations.

The only downside to Crimson is that it doesn't have the same level of omnidirectional AoE on basic chains, and does not have Avalon's absurd stomp heavy chain which can take 50% off of the super-enemies with End Attack Bonus % boosts, its pretty fucking silly. Its a bit silly that you can walk up to a Praetor and proceed to chain stomp + stun him to death in three attack combos.

Finally beat the main story, I played through Normal entirely with Jake so I think I'll do Hard with Crimson before moving on to Expert.

Just one quick question folks - is it possible to turn off the giant arrow at the character's feet that is constantly pointing you towards the next objective?

Nope, the only options are to change the language and vibration settings.

Game has pretty good production values for what I was expecting. Just started and while the missions are short it's fun so far. Hopefully there is enough sense progression to keep it feeling fresh.

There's a lot of progression (the augments and skills that are granted from the core) but it especially spreads out if you unlock Crimson with badges early on since then you have two very different mechs to level/build out.

I'm guessing the switch hardware is making the loading screens irrelevant, they load so fast it doesn't even matter of they put hints there or not

Another game with broken rumble support. Thank goodness you can turn it off. Reminds me a lot of Snake Pass before it was patched.

What is it with developers and the Switch's HD Rumble?

How is it broken? Anyway I just got the game, currently at stage 4 of chapter 1. Pretty decent game for its price, a fairly simple heck and slash, the badges offer some kinda of customisation but don't seem to have that big of an impact on the game play. Feels more like a muso game than a platinum game tbh. Maybe things will change up when I go beyond chapter 1.
Overall a decent game for its price and I don't regret getting it at this point but if fire emblem warriors is out I don't see the appeal of implosion.

Rumble feels perfectly fine here... Anyway, tried the game for free on my Shield TV, proceeded to buy on the Switch for portable goodness. Probably has the exact same graphics, but the Switch does seem to load a tad faster.

Levels are the perfect length for commuting too, anyone share how many chapters there are?

Rumble is broken when it's far too aggressive and you can hear it whining.

I love how short these levels are! Makes it super easy to jump in and play a level or retry a level for badges. That's awesome! I have a feeling I will be rocking back and forth between this and Has-Been Heroes for real quick play sessions when I have a few minutes here and there.

Hopefully it means more hack 'n slash/beat 'em up games for the Switch. Same for more mobile games ports.

Disagree, it feels perfectly suited for this game. The fact that you can hear it is just the nature of the rumble setup. It's nothing as ridiculous and obviously broken as Snake Pass was.

Am I crazy or are the Another Story levels just not as fun? Not feeling that characters moveset at all :'(

Quick question on the HD rumble for this game, I know you can turn it off but when activated it seems to go crazy with this game, is it just me or just my switch or is it just that way?
First time I played this game and the rumble feature started if felt like the switch was going nuts.

No, the fact that you can hear it is NOT the nature of the rumble setup. Mario Kart shows you how to do it right.

It's broken in this game, and ridiculously distracting because of it.

See the above posts. I brought it up already. Rumble is too aggressively implemented. Just turn it off if you don't like it.

This game seems to be doing really well, it's reached #2 on the US best seller list beaten only by the unstoppable Minecraft.

The positive impressions here make me want to try it out. Saw it on the eShop last night and got very curious by the screenshots (terrible trailer. Come on--show me how the game plays!).

About how much time have you guys put into it? By the sounds of it, you're expected to replay it a lot, right?

Nice! It's also 2nd in the Japanese eShop. I guess the positive impressions on the game and it's price are making a difference.

Every stages have 1 to 4 mini-objectives that give you badges which unlock some goodies, especially Crimson; a superior mech to the default one.

My system only tells me that I started playing 10 days ago (RIP Activity Log) but I've been playing it quite a bit as my new "something to do while listening to podcasts" game. There's a lot of replaying levels to complete various side objectives (don't take damage, kill enemies with guns only, etc) across 3 difficulties, so there's definitely plenty to do.

And there's two extra modes I believe? Didn't unlocked the last one so I can't confirm what it actually is.

I LOVE that each mission is like 2-3 minutes long. You can play and replay them so fast, it's a perfect game to play in between games, or when you rage quit from ARMS online!

Yeah, there's Another Story where you can play a few new (and much larger) levels as a third character who uses a long range moveset, and Special Mode is basically two Horde Mode missions and a boss rush, with the only goal being to get a high score.

Oh! Can't wait to unlock that mode.

Crimson is so good. It's nice that the in-game voices change depending on which one you use, but a shame the cutscenes don't reflect that.

Also, the end of Another Story... ;__;

Can anyone explain what all these stats mean on this screen? I'm super disappointed that Switch games don't come with a digital manual like 3DS and WiiU, for quick reference on things like this.

Or if you just want a quick rundown:

Power = Attack damage
Endurance = HP
Rage = Number of rage attack bars
Armor = Defense
Hack Level = Determines whether you can open locked doors
Shield = How much damage you can take before you start losing health
Critical Rate = Makes attacks randomly more powerful
Raging Rate = Rage attack gauge fills faster

I agree with those people saying the rumble is no good. I don't know if some switches are just different or what, but it's very loud and has a slight rattle to it that just doesn't feel good. It's a very high frequency vibration. I'm playing 100% in handheld mode if that matters.

This game is really hitting that itch for me. The gameplay is relatively simple, but things ramped up nicely so some actual thought and upgrades were needed.

Yeah I got more into last night after Splatoon. This game is real good, if it were published by Nintendo or some company you've heard of, it'd get more buzz.

I'm really not buying into the excitement on this one. I feel like the combat is really basic, the loot system is really lazy, and the story is a weird mix of warframe jank and anime. I wish it had a more traditional loot system where you were getting upgraded equipment and some more customization with the abilities.

It seems like a high production value mobile game.

But, it is a high production value mobile game....that was ported to Switch. :p

Played the demo on my phone and thought it was pretty solid, so I bought the Switch version. Will give it a try later.

Woah dunno how I missed this on the eshop, looks kickass. Kinda reminds me of shinobi for some reason. Gonna pick it up when I get home.
