Hey everyone, this is Dusk Golem aka AestheticGamer. I have posted on NeoGAF since 2011, and have decided to resign. I have enjoyed posting about horror games here for years, but I no longer wish to support the site and will be leaving for good. I will still be around the internet, I go by AestheticGamer on YouTube, I make games on Steam as Yai Gameworks, and I plan to go by Dusk Golem on other forums. I'll be joining an off-set of the GAF community leaving to try other ventures like ResetEra (Official Twitter for that here: https://twitter.com/reseteraforum ). I hope some of you who read this may consider it, and I plan to try to expose more people to horror games in the years to come. Just not here.

I remember playing the Freeware version of this back when.

I can confirm that it's pretty spooky. Especially when...

The game fucking closes and then reopens about 15 seconds later with 2spooky4meface and noises..

I thought this was going to be a video game version of "Don't Hug Me I'm Scared". I was so confused as to how that would've worked.

Oh yeah, I remember when GB played this way back when. Good ol' White Face and that. I'll probably pick this up and then be too scaredy to actually play it, but I really love the idea of games taking over other programs.

I played the original freeware version on Gamejolt a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I wonder how much improved the new version is!

I remember playing this in 2012, it creeped me the fuck out. I was actually terrified in the last half. I'm so extremely happy there's a new release! Gonna get this after work. Thanks for posting, I totally missed this game.

Really? I think it was pretty tame, there are only like 2 or 3 scares in the whole game.
 
Yep. Granted that was 4 years ago, there's something about it that just creeped me out so bad.
The first scenes weren't as scary as the final one in the hospital looking area, even though I know he can't get you anymore at that point. But I didn't know that at the time so it was super creepy.

Gotta get to Pony Island and Undertale someday, definitely putting this on my wishlist as well. Thanks for the heads-up!
 
The thing spoiled in the Steam page video is pretty brilliant... If the game is more wacky stuff like that, I must say I'm interested.
 
For 3€ I think you guys should get it, it is definitely fun. It is not the next big thing and I will probably forget about it but I enjoyed it.

Awesome, I loved the original (when I wasn't stuck). Hope it's almost as effective still, hard to beat playing it the first time back in the day with no expectations/knowledge of the 'metagame' aspect.

Bought it at the Halloween sale and just finished it. I hadn't even heard of it before and it was recommended on the sale thread, so I thought why not. In the end it was kinda clever, but honestly, don't expect too much. The game never got very scary (not to me anyway) and what scares there are, are mostly of the jump variety. Worth the dollar I paid for it, but ehhh. Novel concept, but ultimately just not that great imo. I'm actually on the lookout for a good really scary game, I've not played one in years and years. I'm kinda banking on RE7.
