Also, I don't know if it's just me.. but every time I have a Five Guys burger, I can't help but to think it would be better if they offered a chili topping. Like it would be better as a chili burger or something.

I got a double double animal style and fries animal style at the In-N-Out in Austin, TX. it didn't live up to the hype for me.

I'd rather have whataburger or five guys.

I can almost walk to that one if I wanted. Went there once, it was alright. I think it's better than Whataburger, but not as good as Five Guys. About the same as P Terry's.

Top Burger still wins. Put some chili on it and leave me alone.

Borgata right? Yeah it's not the same. I live in LA for 4 years and I was really missing it. So my wife and I headed down to AC a few years ago and saw Fatburger in Borgata, I got so excited. But it just wasn't the same :( It was good, but not like it is in Cali.

Yup, the one in Borgata. Ah, well, I guess it's good then that I should be trying the one here in midtown instead. Did it originate on the west coast?

In-n-out burger patties are so thin they are more like the leftover burnt shit you clean/scrape off your grill after cooking a real burger.

Five guys is the only one of these places I've ever seen. I like five guys except the bun. It's about the quality of the super cheap buns you get at the supermarket. Haven't had one in a few years though, so maybe the quality has changed.

Best burger I've ever had was from a concession stand during a martial arts tournament about 10 or 11 years ago in Texas. It was talked about for years among myself and the few other competitors I knew who tried it for lunch, but we were never able to find a duplicate. As a side note, we all won gold in our respective divisions that day.

I'm with the OP. It was fine, but nothing near the hype. I too would prefer Five Guys. I'm willing to give it another try, though. People sure love it.

My favorite chain burger is Shake Shack, though.

I'm TELLING you fools: P. Terry's.

Double cheeseburger combo? $6.25.

That's six dollars and a single quarter in fucking United States Dollars for a burger that's better than Five Guys, Whataburger, or In-n-Out.

It was only that much because of the animal style fries he got, otherwise in and out is VERY reasonable.

Hype makes everything seem worse than it actually is when you finally get around to experiencing it for yourself. Even if you end up thinking the thing is awesome. You would have thought it was even more awesome if you came upon it free of hype.

I actually like the burgers at "The Rock" wood fired pizza joint. The "Hurts so good burger" is awesome :)

There's a place in the Valley with an In N Out and Five Guys literally yards away from each other. Imagine the traffic there, lol.

I think In-N-Out is overrated. Their prices are okay if you ain't doing combos as you can get two or even three burgers, but that is about it.

I'd rather go eat at Jack-In-The-Box, and that is my least favorite hamburger place.

Yeah, I know that is In-N-Out serves the food much "fresher", but the taste doesn't do it for me every time I go.

See my video above. It's in Northridge, and it's the only place to hold such an accurate test.

I think back yard burger is the best cheap drive through burger, although like Burger King, it sometimes ends up tasting like propane.

Never heard of it.

Cook Out is a surprisingly good burger. Also, the fact that you can get a shake any combination of flavors you want it, a burger, and 2 sides for $5-6 bucks is just incredible. Plus, hush puppies.

Double-double animal style with animal style fries is the best In-N-Out can do. Five Guys is still better, sorry west coast.

As some that has both a 5 guys and a In N Out with in 5 mins of my house... In N Out beats down 5 guys any day of the week.

Ever had Winstead's? We have a local place here called the Green Room that is really good too. They have Irish Cheddar and interesting buns / toppings.

Fatburger > In-N-Out. Why the fuck is Fatburger never ever mentioned in these threads? Five Guys, Shake Shack, In-N-Out none of them touch Fatburger.

Every single fast food thread turns into this same debate.

The reason nobody can agree on which fast food place is the best is because they're all equally disgusting.
