In Rainbows is a perfect record

Give it a few spins from start to finish. I was never a huge Radiohead fan before, but once I got into this album I turned completely.

House of Cards and Reckoner are both incredible. IMO, the closest it gets to a weak track is the closer, Videotape.

I took out a mortgage to get a ticket for their Manchester gig in July, really looking forward to it.

I'm going to see them in Atlanta in April, my first time and getting tickets was tough.

Like I said, it's my favorite album ever...But it still bums me out to this day that they didn't use the 2006 tour version of Videotape. Here's Videotape from Bonnaroo in 2006, https://youtu.be/DTZt6Dzkq6w. Album version really misses that punch that Jonny Greenwood gave it in my opinion.

First post mails it. Jigsaw is an all-time favorite, along with Nude, Videotape, and House of Cards. My favorite Radiohead album along with The Bends.

Ah yes. Pretentious. The buzzword used by detractors to describe anything they dislike that aims to be thought provoking.
It comes off strongly as "look at us, we art, listen to our uniqueness, we art, we so cool."

and the fans dont help because they're pretentious and very defensive. :)

It's good, just really straight-forward. Basically marked the beginning of Radiohead's "Ok we've made our point, we're old, time to settle down and just write some pretty good songs" phase.
Is that what you think TKoL is? Many people would disagree.

As much as I enjoy In Rainbows and A Moon Shaped Pool, I really hope to see another sharply polarizing album like The King of Limbs out of them.

I personally think In Rainbows is the best Radiohead album as a whole. OK Computer and Kid A have a few of the best SONGS but as a whole In Rainbows I feel is the greatest.

What is more pretentious?

Disclaimer: I dont know what you listen to but all music is "pretentious"

If you think Radiohead is off-the-scales pretentious I don't even know what to say. They don't even come close to the hubris found in 70s prog rock. They've never even released a "rock opera".

Has anyone listened to the supercut with Ok Computer laced in? Essentially you take a ten second fade out at the end of every song and it leads into the corresponding next track of the cut. For example, track 1 of Ok Computet leads into track 1 of In Rainbows which then in turn leads into track 2 of Ok Compiter. Really cool stuff

Perfect album. I played this on a road trip with my mom and step-dad (Mom doesn't listen to music, step-dad pretty much just listens to talk radio) and they both would not stop talking about it. My mom asked me to buy her this album for Christmas the next year... She literally owns zero CDs.

It just sticks with people. Myself included.

I didn't notice a massive difference with mine, but it was a while back when I heard it on vinyl.

If only they were still pressing it on 45 rpm...

Give it another spin. Some songs are less noticeable but Nude, Faust Arp, House of Cards, Jigsaw are all much better.

This album, plus the way the released it (pay what you want) was one of the more amazing music experiences of my life.

It's an amazing thing. Been listening to it for years and still find myself falling into hypnosis with some of the pure beauty presented in those songs. Amazingly enough, A Moon Shaped Pool is able to enchant me just as easily. Another amazing record. Going to see them in Portland OR in April for my birthday.
