I would have mentioned it if I didn't like Combat Mission more. And the lack of anyone else mentioning that series along with the lack of HoI love is also saddening.SnakeswithLasers said:Pretty much this. Jeez guys.

From a strategic perspective, yes. On a tactical scale, the Combat Mission series is king.Tannhauser said:'World War 2' is not a genre.. thenerdiestmost realistic game is Hearts of Iron II / III.
Quit overlooking Combat Mission!Sir Fragula said:Hearts of Iron 2 and 3.
Simple. Everything else is just bullcrap.
This is a horrible post. MOW is way easier to learn than COH. Don't hold the additional depth against it!Sunflower said:Yep, Company of Heroes. Men of War is close but tough to get people into due to quite the learning curve.
Agreed.speedpop said:The usual suspects of other assorted FPS are lame. You're always playing as part of an Allied outfit and there never seems to be a moment where these pathetic games shove some sort of "Germany/Japan = evil soldiers" propaganda in your face. Yes there is a lot of tainted history surrounding these nations back then, but at the same time people are forgetting that the other soldiers you are killing mercilessly are practically the same as the player's avatar.
I'd kill to see a game that can replicate the feelings a Japanese soldier might go through whilst crashing through the Pacific with ease, or the desperate situations a German soldier would go through at the Battle of the Bulge or even at the fall of Berlin. I think it would be unnervingly awesome to play a small mission in the eyes of a kamikaze pilot - what do these kids go through, mentally, at the beginning through to the end?

CoD2 was a consolized version of CoD1. Tiny maps, press to throw grenades and rechargeable health.bengraven said:That said, CoD2 is not only the best one every made, but one of my favorite games of all time.
So that's saying a lot.

Hell yeah, 2015 made MoHAA and half the expansion SH till whatever happened between them and EA... Then about two dozen of those devs left 2015 to form IW and created CoD!LQX said:I still love WW2 era games. Medal of Honor Allied Assault and its Spearhead expansion I think are the best WW2 games you can play.
