Inazuma Eleven confirmed for NA eShop release -- today!

so i have never even heard of this game until now.. basically don't know ANYTHING about it except for what i saw today..

i was super impressed.. so naturally my question is... do i miss anything by going straight to Inazuma Eleven 3?? Story wise at least?? do i have to know any backstory from the anime or manga or the first game??

3 is the World Cup, which means a bunch of players from the other two games return as cameos and rivals, but it's a standalone story for the most part.

stand up stand up tachiagariiyoo

And yup, it's redubbed. American accents ahoy. I don't recognize any of the voice actors so far.

That's pretty surprising for them to do so :O

I think something was cut from the first game when it was brought over to EU, so wonder if that's back in as well.

Wow, that's really surprising... and weird. Wouldn't it be more cost effective just to keep the original voice cast? Why replace them? I'm not complaining, it's just... weird.

Seems they put up 3 episodes of the anime on the eShop too. Level-5, why you doing this to me? Why? They completely sent the series out to die. They could have at least tried to drum up some excitement for the game beforehand. Especially with all the work they put in. I know the games were gonna have it tough in the Americas either way, but they took the only fighting chance the game had and smashed it into pieces. This is really bumming me out.

3 episodes up on the eShop are also redubbed (but keeps the EU theme), though the voice actors seem different (much worse) than the game's redub. The weirdness continues

EDIT: All the replacement signs have ABSURD typesetting, too. Like, some of the worst I've ever seen. Check out the episode title in the previews, they're tiny. Weird

The episodes also refer to inazumaeleven.tv, which doesn't seem to have a North American portal yet.

It looks like the show's new dub was made in Spain? None of the actors or crew are credited, just the "European's Distributor" which seems to operate out of Spain

So, the Sunglasses in the school that I thought were for that blonde dude, are now called Shadow Lizard but they have the same sprite. Also, isn't the Shadow Lizard an item for recruiting a different character in IE2?

He probably means the third game(s). You need to play all of them and in order too imo because otherwise the plot doesn't make a lick of sense.

Ahh, I see. Yeah, that is a bummer. But still, Level-5 went above and beyond the call of duty on this one. Redubbed game, 3 episodes of the anime. Why not buy it?

I wonder how this handles the DLC characters. There's no option to download them at the title screen.

Also, I'm actually really liking the new dub so far.

I'm very excited by this, and have been for some time, but I'm not buying until I see some reviews/impressions pop up. Deleterious to sales/hype by releasing it this way, if you ask me.

No UK release for this port, it would seem.

Thank you for your interest in INAZUMA ELEVEN. We regret to inform you that LEVEL-5 International America, Inc. has no plans to release the Nintendo 3DS™ eShop version of INAZUMA ELEVEN in the UK regions. While this was a challenging decision, it was deemed unsuitable to release a game with American English voice acting in a territory in which the franchise has been so firmly established with the British English voice cast and downloadable game size constraints prevented us from including both English voice options. While we understand your disappointment, please know that this does not set a precedent for future releases. We at LEVEL-5 International America want to release our games to as wide an audience as possible and we continue to strive towards that goal.

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience and we thank you for your continued support.

I'm watching the first episode right now on 3DS. It's the same English dub that's been around for years.

I'm really conflicted on this. I really wanted physical carts for these. I've been watching PAL releases of 1 and 2 on Ebay forever. Now this is out for a decent price, and 3 is on a region locked system in Europe so I guess this is the way to go.

Do you guys feel confident 2 and 3 will be released here? The ND feed was cutting in and out so I didn't hear most of that part. I don't want to play one with american accents and then have to import 2. I was actually considering getting a PAL 3DS to play them all so that's still not out of the question if they don't make it over.

Wow, I never thought this series would see the light of day in America! I am impressed that Nintendo actually brought this over and I hope it does very well for them and Level - 5.

I thought that dub had the same voice acting as the PAL game? My bad. The game redub is quite a bit better, either way.
Sounds like what happened with Luke. People claimed spite or something I think in the other thread that mentioned this, but uhh... it's sounding more like just replacing a crap dub, haha.

Not as if to say that the PAL game's dub is bad (though I'm personally not a fan), just that this is a marked improvement over the show dub.

Will only double dip for IE3 and maybe IE2 Firestorm if those actually come over here. The biggest thing that pissed me off about this game was that the only player that was actually worth recruiting is also important to the plot. Like WTF is that?

Well, at any rate I don't see it as a big deal if it's an improvement overall. Subjectivity and all admittedly, but it doesn't sound like what we had with Baten Kaitos when the Japanese's English opening got redubbed to have the same people actually voicing the characters in-game, and it ended up being absolutely trashed in comparison. Probably one of the only times when people safely CAN say the "Japanese" version was best without being multilingual!

HALLELUJAH! The Connection Map isn't the antiquated version from IE1 where you actually have to recruit every single player to progress. Instead, like every other IE game, you can skip ahead assuming you have enough FP.

Yeah, talk about surprise released. Still downloading, but from the Nintendo Direct, this version got tweaked for 3DS upper screen right? I didn't notice black bars on the side.

I just bought it. I've never played this series, but I loved the sports RPGs in Mario Golf and Mario Tennis GBA.

I hope this delivers.

How odd. The Club Nintendo registration survey for this is only worth 5 coins. Gonna e-mail and see if this is just an error.

EDIT: Seeing as it's in the new release section on the Club Nintendo site, listed as being worth 15 coins, I'm gonna assume it is.
