I've personally seen a chicken run about 10 meters or so after being decapitated , so yeah, it's possible. Not this zombie bullshit though.
Damn, running? All I've ever seen is rolling. which I suppose, when all you have is a perfectly spherical body, is a perfectly legitimate way of transporting yourself from A to B...

I still remember how disappointing it was when I found out they didn't run around proper like. Almost more disappointing if they can do that and I just never saw it. :c

"woah" -keanu reeves. didn't know that, thanks for educating me good sir. anyway, it still looks like they're holding them up in those pictures.

There is obviously more to it than that, at least if it has to be convincing when they start moving.

The only thing worse than bothering to be skeptical about this is to suggest that the skeptics make an effective case against the dead walking.

That being said, it's probably true. So much of the world has lost touch with the old magiks and that's sad to see. Between HFCS, toxins, and a reliance on technology and consumerism to make us happy, is it any wonder that all but ten percent of each person's brain has atrophied?

Joke post?

I once saw a man who was using 100% of his brain, but I don't know if I consider epileptic seizure to be a step up from normal functioning human brains.

Lay down the pipe man.

yea, fuck chemistry. bring back alchemy!

ignore the obvious, uphold the inane!

The only appropriate response is: :lol

So...why are all the bodies rotted and decomposed as hell? Do they let them decay for a week or two before sending them off to their grave?

Hot humid conditions. Could be like this in a few days I guess. They guy on the second picture looks abit mummified though.

the time the corpses rot is used to save some cash for the real funeral

if you asked the guy in the red shirt how he did it, he'd yell at you for being an evil white man that just wants to ruin their village and all the nature. then you'd feel bad.

Given the number of replies, I'm thinking I should have reworded the first sentence to read "this is such obvious bullshit that anyone bothering to point out that it is 'probably' bullshit is so full of bullshit that the only people who could possibly be more full of bullshit are those that expect people to prove that this isn't bullshit."

Soy-heavy diet, clean living (living like everyone else but owning more wind-chimes), and crystal deodorant will do that for you.

I think it would have been enough to leave out the words "That said, it's probably true..."

=)

Well rather than just being all like "FAAAKE" and "BULLSHIT" at least try to explain what you guys think is going on. Jeez.
They're actually planing to spend $150 billion on Facebook.

Magic is not real. If what we call magic is just misunderstood scientific principles, then it's not magic, by definition.
until we understand it, some people call it magic. they're just words.

could you imagine what ancient tribes thought of aurora's in the sky?

i'm not trying to say that stories like this are misunderstood science that are called dark magic. you can't just call every crackpot story misunderstood science, but i think there's probably a lot of really weird stuff they'd we'd usually instantly dismiss that perhaps in the future will be understood in a new light because of progress made by science.

for a while we call it one thing, and with new understanding we call it something else.

i'll put it this way. scientists are real-world wizards. :)

edit: just to clarify, I DON'T THINK THIS STORY IS REAL IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER. i was just making a tangential comment on someone else's post.

I don't understand how "It's magic" is the most reasonable answer. If you want to believe that, sure, but don't come here and start a speech on how we don't love nature just for not believing in magic. Nature is fucking awesome and I'm in no-way detached from it but from there to believe in magic, there's a step (and some drugs, I guess).

What the fuck is this? Are you comparing ancient tribes not understanding natural phenomena to us not believing people are being raised from the dead?

i'll simply say this.

no, i'm not saying that.

Eww, leave it alone.

One advantage of cremation: you can be sure weirdos won't use your dessicated remains as a horrible puppet in some wackadoodle ritual.

So you're basically saying that old "everything we don't yet understand is magic" line? It's been said half a dozen times already in the thread, I thought you were taking it in another direction.

eh, what do you care what people do with your corpse? you'll be dead.

Is your shift key broken?
no, i just don't feel the need to perfectly craft posts on a forum with correct spelling, punctuation, grammar OR capitalisation. i'm not writing an essay or research paper.

well no, not EVERYTHING. and yes, it has already been said a few times, but i wanted to directly address the post to personally clarify my thoughts.

i don't want people misunderstanding me as some crackpot loon who believes in this kind of stuff. i have a man crushes on scientific dudes like carl sagan and brian cox afterall, who advocate the burden of proof and critical thought.

It's undignified. And nasty. If someone insists on messing with my dead body, I want it to be for a legitimate academic purpose. I wouldn't be opposed to giving my body to science, or to some atelier so that trendy attractive people could draw my fabulous bones and stand around looking all pensive. Better than being used as a dusty muppet.

Lol.... I think he might have been talking about your facepalm pic ;)

what about sex toy? I'm sure there's a good sized market to sell your body to.

dignity and nastiness are irrelevant when you're dead. only people who will care are family and friends that are alive after you're dead.

but i can understand where you're coming from. it's nice to think that perhaps the saggy mass of cells/atoms i leave behind after my consciousness ceases could be used to further the cause of science.

i don't get it. what does the shift key and the pic have to do with each other?

You're using correct spelling, punctuation and grammar though. The only thing you're leaving out is capitalization. It just looks like shit and makes it difficult to read when you take the time to type out a semi-lengthy post and not use capital letters. The whole "I'm not writing an essay" shtick is stupid and old.

Hey, if someone who cared about me can make money from my corpse, go right ahead. I won't be using it anymore, nor will I be around to care. Would be sad if my body was able to defy science and dance like Burney - I'd like to see that.

It says /facepalm. I thought that was caused by missing the shift-button... / is next to it.

But appearantly I was wrong haha.

*shrug*

i dunno man. the spelling, punctuation and grammar come easier to me than capitalisation. i just see it as an additional, unnecessary action i can skip and people will still understand the content of my posts.

it's old because it's legitimate in the context of a "video game forum on the internet!"

i'm really sorry it bothers you so much, because it's going to make your stay on GAF and the internet miserable.

Yeah, because I haven't had access to the internet for the last 'x' amount of years. Oddly enough the majority of posters here have the sensibility to capitalize their sentences correctly.

not me. yay no capitalization!

as for the story, why didn't they take video footage? it would make more sense to capture the dead walking on video than in pics. then again, no one ever have high resolution cameras for UFOs.

i assumed you hadn't been on the internet long since something like capitalisation in forum posts bothers you so.

on another point, does it bother you when you see words like "capitalise" spelt with an "s" instead of a "z"? or "colour" with a "u"?
