inFamous Second Son - Behind the Scenes - Smoke & Mirrors

Looks amazing. Need some uncompressed footage though because that youtube compression is terrible.

So glad that this is a Q1 2014 game and not far off from release.

Good lord this looks incredible. Far and away my most hyped next-gen game shown thus far. Glad they offer a way to scale buildings faster - the climbing animations and feel of the climb was always satisfying in inFamous 1 and 2 but it definitely got old after several hours into the game.

They needed this at launch. A true next gen experience graphics wise. Would have moved consoles.

Given the delay that means that it would've been rushed like many other launch games. Giving Sucker Punch a few extra months with final dev kits can only lead to good things.

I think we all tried to imagine what they could do with Spiderman while playing. It just seems like such a natural fit.

This game sold PS4 on me, I probably would have bought it anyway because it's freaking inFamous, but I'm just wowed by how it looks everytime I watch a video for this game.

Are they still aiming for 30fps again ?

PC version confirmed!

Honestly, am I the only one who isnt impressed by the graphix? Some huge AA lacks some places.
Only impressed by division and deep pre-downgrade

get outta here junior.

The most impressive looking exclusive title coming out in my opinion. The main character must smell lovely though, using all of those smoke powers and all.
(Kidding, not kidding)

The most next-gen actually playable game shown so far.
I just find that series a bit mindless with no need for mastery.

I'd say the opposite actually, from playing 1 and 2, if you don't end up knowing your moveset very well, you'll get decimated towards endgame. That and it plays like a 3rd person shooter, and not a 3D beat em up.

Yeah, it's too bad they didn't have this ready for launch and instead wanted to make it a worthy sequel with adequate development time. PS4 may have sold out if they had just stripped out features to make it to launch, now they have to live with only selling out instead.

Moved consoles? They will not be able to produce enough consoles this holiday season to keep up with demand anyway, so this game is exactly what they need to keep moving consoles early 2014 when they are able to better keep up with demand.

The city looks so empty just like the first two. Hardly any people or cars.

I'd say wait for a playable demo to publicly come out first before making judgement. But yes, from what we've seen, the city does looks quite empty in the current state it's in.

Looks superb. I already said it before, but this is my most wanted announcement right now. Gameplay looks so great.

I think I saw framerate drops at 1:10 offscreen footage lol.
But then again, Infamous 1 and 2 had massive framerate issues.
Pls do not disappoint, SP.

True but I don't know how limited supply will be when the game actually comes out.And at that point I would still be paying full price(as in no PS4 price drop anytime soon) so why not pre-order. Also as an ealry adopter it helps justify keeping my Gamefly account.

Very true. And if you're a PS Plus member you can get Outlast and Don't Starve <3

Technically sound, and very clean looking. Only some vsync and framerate issues to iron out, and it's got plenty of time.

Never had issues with the visuals. Nope, my problem is how barren the game looks.

All those powers, so little to use it on.

I'd say it looks fine given how far we still are from release.

I just have concerns because the world in the first two felt pretty empty of life as well. I love amazing and impressive visuals but one of my hopes for this new generation was to have worlds that felt more alive. Cities that were filled with people walking and interacting on every street. So far this seems to be missing that, regardless of how far along it is.

Disagree. The console will sell out at launch anyway. This will give them a second boost in the New Year, right around the time when the market would typically start moaning about droughts. Sony clearly learned a lesson from Vita -- space it out.

It also, as SolidSnakeX mentioned, gives the team more time to polish the game and ensure that it's a smash. It's a smart move all around.

I'll be honest, I don't give a rats ass about pedestrians in the city :/ As long as they have pockets of activity I'd be pretty happy. Also, towards the end of Infamous 2, there were a ton of people in the streets no?

Probably a stupid question, but this game is confirmed 1080p yeah?

Yeah I think it was a good move for put this in Q1 2014. PS4's will sell fine this year with its current line-up. Early next year it will need a boost and I:SS should help.

I have no idea why most of you are so impressed with it. What looks like no shadows cast by the huge light emitted by explosions, half-resolution transparency buffers, no accurate screen-space reflections and some weak texturing, this is one of the least impressive titles to me. I guess I expected a bit more out of the PS4. I hope we see some noticeable improvements in the coming months.

Nah. Way too overcrowded at launch. Juggernauts like COD and BF4, plus big titles like Watch_Dogs and Assassin's Creed, then there's exclusives like Killzone SF, and even titans on other platforms like GT6 and GTAV.

It was wise to move out the way of oncoming traffic.

Definitely the best looking next gen game so far, Wii U stuff included.

Not a big inFamous fan, but this game might make me one.

yeah. let the game fall into early 2014 to keep the momentum going hopefully.

I think both Killzone and Driveclub will make heads turn. Especially looking forward to trying out Driveclub at Gamescom to see it for myself.

From the 30% preview:

I know, which is why I'm still hopeful.
But then ND, Naughty Dog of all people, failed technically with TLOU.
I would give my left nut for this to be 60fps.

Regarding the dipping framerate or? - Must admit that I didn't notice that at all during gameplay.
