inFAMOUS Second Son power ideas

Since we dont have much to talk about lets discuss some power ideas until release!
The Neon power is more projectile based, while Smoke is designed for more close combat. Sucker Punch admitted it has been tightlipped about how many other powers Delsin will acquire over the course of the game, but the developer did say that we have plenty to look forward to.
“We wanted to make sure when we picked the powers for Delsin that there were two things: that they were something that you saw in the city around you…and we wanted to make something that people hadn’t seen before,” Fox added.

The powers have to come from the city and be unique.

Also they have to have a weapon and a traversal element.
 
Mind Control type powers?

If he can steal powers, I see some enemies with those Rock powers, so that could be one.

yeah, but since it's urban and "different" I gather that power set will be labeled "concrete." Also someone suggested coffee due to all the coffee shops around. Might be ridiculous, but doable.
 
Someone in the other thread said "graffiti" I think that's cool and unique.

I could see that happening. It could be environmental based, like laying down a trap or a bomb. For the traversal element, Delsin could travel along the walls and the ground a'la ALBW, but slower with an added sneak element. (If there's sneaking)

I think the marketing for the game is really shitty.
I understand that they don't want to show too much beforhand, but they really did a bad job at getting people excited.

Not the topic to have this discussion.

I could see that happening. It could environmental based, like laying down a bomb. For the traversal element, Delsin could travel along the walls and a'la ALBW, but slower and an added sneak element.
I could see it more as a trap/stealth power.
 
The pacific northwest is known for giant Sequioas and redwood trees so what about a plant based power. Could utilize rooftop gardens or public parks, etc. Could be a lot possibilities, and more games need green in their palette.

Yes nature power is a good possibility.

Could have grenades that explode with tree limbs holding them in place.

Wind power
Heh wont work,you would have the drain power icon always on. :p
 
What about face meld powers? The power to adapt to the look of any pedestrian and then access areas previously inaccessible, utilize stealth, spy on people who don't know who you are and so on and so forth. And since they said each pedestrian is modeled after a real Seattle individual, there could be a great range of options there. If they just upscaled that to give the characters distinctive personalities and maybe some silly options (like a hobo walks around all drunk and is difficult to control, for ex.) it could be fun.
 
Flower power.

Some sort of metal or magnetism power would be cool too.

Also gravity powers would be great, but I don't know what you'd be able to absorb it from.
 
Also, how many total powers are we guessing? I'm thinking 5 since the last game had three and they seem to be emphasizing how Delsin's ability gives him a lot of freedom to absorb powers.
 
I trust their ideas for the powers, I just wish we could change in real time with the d-pad :(

Yeah I say about 5 as well.

They keep saying he has plenty so I imagine more than 4 atleast.

I'm going to again go with lightning/electricity. I think that would to be a nice reveal in the game. Instead of rail grinding maybe just have the character capable of teleporting around quickly. Similar to the vampire traversal in festival of blood.

Also ask yourselves what powers would result in there being really good particle effects on the ps4. haha.
 
I'm quite convinced that there would be metal and/or glass. There is an abundance of both in the city and they are perfect for powerful moves and particle effects.

Actually I am glad they not reusing power sets from the past games.

I think clouds/steam or something like that is a decent bet...

jets of super hot steam, transform to a cloud of it to float slow but long distances, silent, choking powers and a really big AOE cloud burst of it that doesn't damage people but lets you easily escape a situation.

Rocks/dirt also seems very possible as we've already seen it around...
More melee focused/full body armor for damage. No flight but using the rock slide/shove leap type of ability we've seen DUP agents use already in the trailers. machine gun style pelting of people with rocks to stun so you can close distance and punch the shit out things and then a large AOE attack that shoots spires/spikes out of the floor underneath enemies within range - would toss stronger enemies into the air and stun them and impale weaker soldiers outright.

ice or fire is also a coin toss "could be" type of option.

Something like rubber or glass would be a unique option

final power? Sunlight/sunfire. Rare as shit in Seattle and a more pure and intense combination of the neon and smoke based stuff. Laser beams of heat, super fast running that leaves a wake of flames behind you and an AOE that is just a growing spirit bomb style flame wall that incinerates all but the most stout of competition.

Really honestly wish they hadn't shot down water as a power base already... it SCREAMS perfect ending power... standing in the street, beat down to all hell, a giant DUP army full of a genetically engineered conduits all staring you down ...

and then thunder rolls.....
 
Mist, graffiti, and rock powers all seem like they would make sense given how Sucker Punch has opted to favor more obtuse/creative powers this time around.
 
I'm still baffled by how a "Graffiti" power would work ... BUT ... if they unveiled it and as you shot at people it coated the streets/walls/cars/people with all different sorts of colors? Hands down an amazing win.

You can drain it from music coming from a boombox or car radio.

Traversal could be even faster/crazier than neon.

Totally fits Seattle's music scene and the angst/style of Delsin
 
Im starting to get the feeling the end will either have you with a super hero or super villain squad of characters taking on some big ass monster
 
I like the idea of rubber. Jumping would basically be a really high bounce working similarly to the awesome ice launch from Infamous 2.

Sunlight could also work since it is so rare in Seattle. Delsin would absorb the power from scattered sun rays that break through the clouds.
 
Since his power is to steal powers, I'd think rock or concrete is pretty much confirmed.
My guesses would be sound based powers. And maybe something magnetism based, or possibly charge based that allows him to manipulate currents or maybe become current himself.
I wonder who he stole smoke from?
