Isn't his name Captain Cold ?

Also ... Flash villains usualy suck ... so it is this or the Trickster ... and it will feel "more of the same" with Trickster and Joker

I really enjoy gorilla grodd in the new 52, it would be really awesome too have him playable.

:( I love the Flash and his Rouges. I'd love to see a representation from his side of the DC Universe, ideally Captain Cold. Their personalities stand out and I'd argue they're just as memorable as Batman's or Spider-Man's rouge galleries.

I seriously doubt that character is Killer Frost. SERIOUSLY doubt it. The Ice character is almost assured to be Captain Cold Already from the First trailer and the comic so I really doubt Frost has a shot on the roster. I'm betting the "other woman" seen in the achievements image is Circe.
I wish, but it's so obviously Killer Frost in the achievement icon that I'd be willing to bet on it.

1. The character is very pale. Killer Frost is pale. Circe is always depicted with generic fair skin.
2. The character has whitish-blue hair. Even if you think it's a hood, Circe rarely wears a hood, and when she does, it's never white.

Even with NetherRealm's redesigns the characters are easily recognizable, but nothing about this mystery character resembles Circe. If it was Circe, she would have to be the most reimagined character in the game, which is highly doubtful. The white hair/hood should be the biggest red flag; if there's one thing NRS is doing well to retain it's the characters' core color schemes. Why would every character be instantly recognizable but Circe?

Perhaps Killer Frost will have a greater role within the Nu52 DC Universe and the potential for her to appear here, in this game, is a direct cause of that. In all honesty, I'm surprised that Katana is absent as a playable character given DC's recent push of her both in the Nu52 DC universe and extended media, especially given her prominent role in the upcoming Batman CG animated series.

Speaking of character selection, has Ed Boon indicated at all how much freedom Netherealm Studios had, in choosing which characters would appear and be playable? I'm curious as to the process behind that selection. I'm sure I remember an interview saying as much as DC wanted to feature characters who would have large roles to play in the DC universe, going forward. Although I might be mistaken and it might have been the case for Marvel versus Capcom 3 and not Injustice.

She'd have to alter her voice, though. OG voice coming out of that body wouldn't match.

Well if anyone could do it...

Has there been anything else where Raven was voiced? I think she's been the only one right? Why not get her if she's already doing Harley? Is it that much more to pay for one VA to do 2 voices as opposed to 2 VAs?

Raven was also in DC universe online. I do not know who voiced her there.

I have no idea about Injustice (and I really wonder why no-one's asked about it) but Marvel were definitely hands-on with MvC3, to the point where they were even saying they wouldn't let Capcom give certain characters certain moves/mechanics because it wasn't canon.

And Injustice is obviously the opposite case, as NRS is doing an original storyline they came up with, with redesigned costumes for the entire cast, etc.

I just whipped this up: Killer Frost vs. Circe

I'm struggling... struggling to see Circe in the mystery character. And trust me, I want to, because Captain Cold is at the top of my most wanted villains list.

I'm struggling to see either of them in that honestly. Better throw in that one blurred out screenshot from above of the character art concepts though considering a robed female with a flame hovering over her hand is a concept art character for this game. Also remember that achievement character was originally a black and white. Its been fan colored.

NRS has free reign to do whatever they want to character designs here. Any idea you have will only ever be a loose one due to this. I'm going with Circe due to that blurred concept, and Wonder Woman needing more villains.

I'm just as surprised the question hasn't been asked yet. I don't see DC has having had the same level of hands on as Marvel did, for obvious reasons in terms of costume choices, etc. But, I can see DC giving Netherealm Studios a list of suggested characters to use based on what they want pushed in the general media.

Heroes are full with Hawkgirl and Shazam, awhile Villain still have Sinestro and Doomsday. I guess we still have to wait and see with two spots on Villain sides, so I assume that it would be Ares and Killer Frost/Circe/C. Cold.

I hope that they would manage to add 6 or 8 more characters, since I can see that we could have 6 more characters with two slots of DLC.

Given Catwoman matrixing a bullet I think she has a dodge move that will play a different animation for the kind of attack it dodges. Pretty cool.

Yeah. I made a gif of that, but didn't post it, cause it tends to cause motion sickness. don't believe me. Gif that part and watch it loop. You'll get dizzy. lol

If we get alt skins with different voices wouldn't that maybe give characters like Batgirl or Batwoman a chance to make it in. Its a fighting game some of the normal character model stuff doesn't apply.
Cassandra Cain would be an acceptable Batman reskin imo.

I don't think that's Killer Frost, well I hope its not at least.

For one she is clearly wearing a hood, as it folds the same way Shazams does.

And two, her skin kinda has a slight purple tint, as opposed to KF's blueish tint.

I also don't think its Circe either, I'm not really sure who it could be.

Id rather have anyone over Killer Frost... even
Cassandra Cain

I think there's more characters than the 24 slots shown.

Not sure which version to get. Was the 360 or PS3 version better for Mortal Kombat?

Oh and The Flash wins against The Joker? What is this ...

Our man Aquaman lost :/

Now Batman is sure to win!

Oh well... GL's alt costume looks way better than his default. Unique entrance and win poses for Dictator Supes is awesome and I hope we see a lot more of that. Wish we got to hear more of TV show Arrow but Superman dunking him so hard and fast is probably the first really accurate fight in the Battle Arena. Themyscira, Iron Heights, and Ferris Air Field all look like awesome stages. I think that makes Atlantis the only one we know about that we haven't actually seen in a fight yet.

Overall really happy with this week.

Really awesome that they showed of the alt costumes in this round making the videos more interesting. I saw that Wonder Woman and Superman had different intros. Maybe if a character is in a specific stage they will give the character a new intro? Or maybe is it the costume? Either way I'm happy about it cause MK9 would be so weird where you would have mirror matches and they would say the same thing to each other lol

also lol at the the time of the superman fight

You know, I actually think the Iron Heights stage is supposed to be Stryker's Island. Gorilla Grodd is kept at Stryker's in DCU Online (which would explain his presence there), and you can clearly see Parasite, a Superman villain, to the far right of the stage.

The Superman Vs Green Arrow was cool. Nice seeing unique things for alts. This is why I like this game so much. NetherRealm may not be good at modeling/animation/whatever, but the game is so filled with content that I can easily forgive these issues. It's not like this is a cash-in or anything, it's very clear that they're pouring in a ton of effort to make their vision tangible.

The models and animations are actually quite nice, as are the stage interactions. Visually it's quite a treat.

Maybe, you can also see Deadshot, and Metallo, who Joker kills in a stage interaction.

The ice guy in the chamber is not Captain Cold, it roars like a monster and knocks that thing around. Plus you don't really need to contain the dude, just take away his gun.

The stage transitions look amazing but hopefully they don't become too tiresome.

Somewhat random question: have Netherrealm said anything about being able to adjust the blood and violence levels in this game? My little nephews are big into superheros and would love this game but it looks a bit too brutal for them...

What does anyone think about the roster so far? are you happy with it?

Yeah, I personally don't mind the animations and models. Though I can see why many people don't like it either. It's just not enough of a reason for me to dislike a well-crafted game that stars all the characters I love.

The main complaint that people have towards animation is basically the way many characters move and attack, as they are pretty stiff-- like real humans put their whole body into many of these actions with many subtle transitions that make it look convincing, while with this game, they seem to pivot unnaturally. Like, i.e. Hawkgirl swings around her mace like Harry Potter is waving around a wand with solely her arms when in reality her whole body should sway with the motion as it requires all those muscles to get that kind of heavy attack going.

Would I like to see better animations? I'd welcome it, sure. Is it off-putting? No. In my opinion, the game still looks great.

Flash's villains aren't realy that bad, for one thing they're unionized!

It's been rated T, so it'll probably have the option to turn off blood (MK vs DC did). Apparently, there's also options to turn off usage of stage objects and stage transitions if you consider them annoying.

Why no stage transitions in the Superman v. Green Arrow fight?

Also, TDLink, the link to the Aquaman v. Green Lantern fight in your OP appears broken.

What's the problem with Killer Frost? Seems like the perfect candidate for Sub Zero like gameplay outside of another Batman character.

She is just a weird and out of left field choice, Firestorm isn't even in the game, so she has no real reason to show up.

Combined with the fact a lot of people would rather have Captain Cold. Flash needs a villain, and well Cold has a silly name and a silly outfit, he is actually a really awesome character.

Plus, Frost is going to be in MK10, I can get my fill of sexy ice ladies in that.

I've been mulling over this for awhile but I came up with a viable playstyle for Deadman. I was inspired by Khezu saying that they could make him Mokujin style...but since this is an alt. universe, Brand could just possess his own corpse right? So basically, he'd be fighting inside his own body with a heavy emphasis on acrobatics.

His gimmick (I haven't thought about this too in-depth) would be where he can leave his body once during a round, leaving his corpse on the ground, and possess the opponent if they're close enough and maybe control the movements of the opponent-- so like if they were rushing you down, you can move them away to keep off the pressure for a bit, and then you'll return to your body in which the opponent would be in a stun state until a few frames after Deadman is active again. <-- Idk how well this idea would work at all, seems like it'd break the flow of a match, but maybe someone could think up something more creative, like maybe he would start punching himself in the face or something once he possesses them "Stop hitting yourself..."

As for his super, he could bring them to a cemetery somehow (Idk how, but GL brings them to Oa, and other heroes have done something similar) and he fly around and possess various corpses of deceased heroes and villains, each of them doing an attack on the opponent.

Thanks for letting me know. Not at a computer right now but I'll fix it later.

Well let's keep in mind that killer frost still isn't confirmed in any way, shape, or form.
