[Insert Title]: Remastered - PS4/X1/Wii U

Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 remaster needs to happen.

WiiU:

Metroid Prime Trilogy (Texture/Graphics overhaul)
FZERO GX
Waverace: 64/Blue Storm + 1080 Snowboarding + Pilotwings (Extreme Sports Combo Pack)
Super Mario Galaxy 1+2

I'd like to add my vote for Dragons Dogma as well simply because it looks incredible, is critically acclaimed and I never had a chance to play it before giving away my PS3. :'(

Metroid Prime Trilogy: Re-Remastered, please. Nintendo, Retro, plz. We need the best games ever made in HD now. NOW.

(also, Super Mario 64 with 3D World-like visuals)

Zelda: Twilight Princess -- Very disappointed that they didn't do this (a game that could really use a remastering) instead of Wind Waker (a game that has a timeless visual style). TP is my favorite of the post-N64 3D Zeldas, and an HD remastering would be a good reason to replay it.

Shenmue 1/2 -- Never played them, but really would love to check them out sometime. Very bizarre that Sega hasn't done this yet.

F-Zero GX -- I don't expect another F-Zero anytime soon, and let's face it, this is a near-flawless game so why try to make a sequel that won't live up to it? Remaster this game and add online support and maybe some new tracks, and that's all I really need.

Playstation 4:
Silent Hill Downpour
Final Fantasy XII (well, PS3 would work for this too)
Dark Souls, Dark Souls II
Mass Effect 1-3
Resident Evil 5-6
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow & Lords of Shadow 2

Wii U:
Twilight Princess (would likely need some re-texturing and atmospheric effects)
Skyward Sword
Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
Metroid Prime Triology

Nintendo wise I chose games that were either in dire need of an HD version, and PS4 wise I chose games that had superior PC versions but that I personally would rather play on PS4. I'll probably add more to this once I see other posts/suggestions that I agree with. Silent Hill Downpour would be great to me because the initial release was super buggy and janky and I think a remaster with great loading times, better textures, and 60fps would make my day.

There are those who would sell a ton. Skyrim and Mass Effect leading the charge. Uncharted is obvious. Bioshock would do well. Another take on Shadow of the Colossus and ICO would be nice too. And Final Fantasy XII could probably be relatively easy with the results the emulator has put out.

I think I'd be excited for a Katamari Damacy remaster. Add in a few more missions, more unlockables, a picture mode, sharing Katamari size and some filters and it'll be perfect.

Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2: Remastered. Because we missed this during the PS3/360 generation.

I think I'd be excited for a Katamari Damacy remaster. Add in a few more missions, more unlockables, a picture mode, sharing Katamari size and some filters and it'll be perfect.

For what it's worth, we got something like this with Katamari Forever on PlayStation 3. It had multiple graphic filters, a slew of unlockable costume parts and cousins and I think it might have even had a picture mode ala Noby Noby Boy, but it's been so long I'd have to double check and confirm that.

Super Smash Bros Melee. Preserve the original balance but also offer an additional "rebalanced mode" with input form the top players of each character. I would probably never play any other game again after that.

Wrong, we need the Trilogy remade with a new HD engine.

Of course that would be awesome, but I don't think it's reasonable to expect such a thing, it takes too much effort/money. I just want to know whatever Retro is working on next and being given the HD remaster bone while I wait.

Too much to list.

The one I want the most but least likely to get:
The Resistance trilogy

Would also love the Arkham Trilogy with all the PhysX effects from the PC version

Lots of great ideas here.

Not liking the 'no more remasters, new games only' posts; was the thread title unclear? There are a lot of classics that deserve another outing on new hardware. I don't see the difference between remastering a game at higher resolution/framerate and rereleasing a classic film on new media. Should I have boycotted Blade Runner on blu-ray because I'd already seen it once on VHS?

I agree. The arguments are beyond irrational.

But they seem dead set on thinking that the only thing coming out are remasters, that they waste too many resources (eventhough the cost:benefit ratio is pretty high) and they are preventing new games from getting released.

Having said that I wouldn't mind if we had a dedicated thread to discuss remasters.

These would be my choices. Most of them being collections though. Course I do know that most of these would never happen sadly.

Metroid Prime Trilogy with regular controls
Arkham Series would be nice
A complete Halo collection that included Halo: Reach, Halo 3: ODST, and even Halo Wars
Red Dead Redemption
Remastered Crazy taxi collection that included 1,2, 3
Gears of war collection
Uncharted collection
Bioshock collection
GTA collection

That would be it.

Skate 1, 2 and 3 in 1080p60 with all DLC included.

Bonus: add additional camera angle(s) and off-board walking in Skate 1, and improve the walking in Skate 2.

I would buy this in a freakin' heartbeat. I played the skate games more than anything last gen. I'd also want a Burnout collection or at least Burnout 3: Takedown HD Remake.

I'd kill for Red Dead Redemption.

I also hope they do the Uncharted trilogy, maybe pack in Golden Abyss. I really loved UC2's multiplayer component.

Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Red Dead Redemption from the seventh generation.

Final Fantasy XII from the sixth.

Anything from the fifth generation would have to be a remake rather than a remaster, but I'll say Vagrant Story.

All of this. FFXII emulated at 1080p already looks pretty damn good, aside from the textures. So just use higher res textures and bring it to 1080p 60fps and I will eat that shit up.

For Wii U:
F-Zero GX with new tracks and AX mode added/unlocked.
Twilight Princess
Xenoblade Chronicles

For PC/XB1/PS4:
Red Dead Redemption

I would be down for metroid prime remastered for wii u. Only if it let you play all three games with a pro controller though. Didn't the third game only use wii remote? I don't remember.

Honestly, All they need to do is unlock the AX tracks. Since most people haven't even played them it'll be new to a lot of people. If I were to dip into my wish list with this game though, I would absolutely add online play and either that sweet sweet random track generator from FZERO X or the 64DD Track Editor. THAT my friend would be HEAVEN!

Thread of Dragon's Dogma.

A truly exciting, fresh, amazing title, held back in serious, major ways by technical limitations on dinosaur hardware. There's no better candidate for a PC/next gen port.

Agree on the Mario Galaxy games.

I would be glad if many games would be remastered, but I won't be greedy. Mario Galaxy 1+2 is d definitely enough.

Games that require "Remastering" (which naturally includes amendments for controller support) so that generation of unwilling ignorance can be rectified (including my own):

  • KoTOR 2 w/ Restored Content mod
  • Deus Ex
  • System Shock 1 & 2
  • Diablo 1 & 2
  • Fallout 1 & 2
  • ES: Morrowind
  • Wipeout (containing all fan favourite tracks from all entries in the franchise)
  • Gothic series
  • Thief series

I can only speak for titles available for PlayStation, so with that in mind:

Heavy Rain
Beyond: Two Souls
Uncharted Series
Resistance Series
WARHAWK - For the love of god, please
Infamous - Going back to play it, it feels/looks somewhat like a PS2 game

Batman: Arkham Collection
Beyond: Two Souls Director's Cut
BioShock 1/2/Infinite
Mass Effect Trilogy
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Super Mario Galaxy 1+2
Xenoblade HD

Infamous 1 and 2 could use a big ol IQ and draw distance bump. Very hard to go back after Second Son. Traversal is also a pain, aside from riding power lines.
