Not a fan of Quantic Dream, but it's always sad to see any project get stuck in dev hell like this. Hopefully it doesn't result in a cancellation and layoffs, Lord knows there's already been plenty of those.
"Our interactive Star Wars movie project is in trouble, quickly let's waste a bunch of time and burn a bunch of cash on a live service multiplayer game!!!"
Detroit was 8 years ago and they're still saying that Star Wars game they're working on won't be out for years, what the fuck have these people been doing.
With the silence continuing surrounding the game, Insider Gaming has details on Star Wars Eclipse and developer Quantic Dream.

"At this stage, the long-term outlook is less driven by creative capabilities and more by financial viability," they said. "Should Spellcasters fail commercially, NetEase is expected to reevaluate its commitment to the studio and could opt to discontinue further investment."
What what? A studio that has exclusively made big budget branching narrative interactive movie type games, got stuck in development hell and though "I know what'll make things easier…we'll stick half the studio on a GaaS"
Yeah this is 100 cooked. They will all lose their jobs.
Hopefully the cast off talent can reform into some interesting indies making more cost effective heavy rain type games than whatever the bloated hell they've been dealing with at quantic.
Even then, Eclipse will have been heavily built around Kathleen Kennedy's failed and borderline toxic era of Star Wars…it has a crazy high chance of pulling a veilguard or acolyte if it ever does release…such a shame as I've loved quantic dreams prior games. They just seemed to lose their way after Detroit….sounds like nothing but chaos from the leaks that have dripped out over the years.
