Are there really Insomniac fans, though? Not just, Ratchet and Clank fans?
http://www.insomniacgames.com/a-message-from-ted-sunset-overdrive/t may surprise some of our longtime fans that we have partnered with Microsoft Studios to develop Sunset Overdrive exclusively for Xbox One. When we first began discussing this idea with Microsoft, we were initially hesitant to shift back into an exclusive arrangement. But as the Microsoft team began introducing us to the abilities and philosophies driving the development of Xbox One, we knew that Sunset Overdrive was a perfect fit.
R&C was fantastic for its time, one of my favorite memories in the PS2 era. Their output on the PS3 thus far however, did not stir me as much as I would have liked. Still, I wish them the best success.
no it wasnt. Sony never said Versus was exclusive
MGS5 is multiplatform buddy. It was also announced for PS4
I feel sorry for them. They are the new Ninja Theory.
Solid, respectable output overall, with flashes of brilliance, at a higher volume than most devs their size. Great work ethic and treat their employees like royalty. What's not to be a fan of?Are there really Insomniac fans, though? Not just, Ratchet and Clank fans?
Yeah bullshit. Naughty Dogs games have always had much greater intricacies to them than anything Insomniac has put out post the PS1 era. Jak and Daxter was always a much more complex, more intricately designed and well produced series than Ratchet.

I have zero problem with them making exclusive they are 3rd party they can do what they want.
But I do have a problem with this:

I dont like that at all.

Shaik Bajunid said:Ted,
I've owned all Insomniac games since PS1 era and sometimes I bought them twice (like the HD remakes and also the digital downloads of PS1 Spyro games). I love Insomniac even when I don't really like Fuse and even when I hate Facebook games I still gave your game a try. I'm okay if you go multiplatform since that'a the way most people go these days (look at Kojima Prod. for example). But to go exclusive with Microsoft? That's it...it's the end of the line.
I'll be unsubscribing to your podcasts and newsletters and etc just to show my dissatisfaction. It's a shame really. Now I can't play your games anymore since I can only afford to have one console and will most probably go with PS4.
Better fit = it's a polite way of implying a money hat.I have zero problem with them making exclusive they are 3rd party they can do what they want.

Have they really fallen this far just because of FUSE and few R&C spinoffs? I stick to my guns that A Crack in Time is absolute top tier when it comes to PS3 exclusives and it was in fact my first platinum! I haven't played Resistance 3 but many seem to have commented that it is far better than the public apathy about it makes you think.
.
They have been a big name on the Playstation developers and almost nobody seems to care about them doing Xbone exclusive (that AFAIK is even rumoured to be a multiple games deal). I think I have seen more whine about FFXV and KH3 being multiplatform and this is after SE has become pretty much multiplat for their big projects and after the FF13 saga. I think I have seen more whine about Dead Rising 3 being exclusive and that is pretty much Xbox franchise to begin with! GAF thread about Sunset Overdrive is 3 pages long. FUSE OT is dead and that is longer ffs or any FUSE thread for that matter even if it is just 90% about people talking about how big of a nuclear bomb it is.
Have they really lost that much goodwill? It makes you wonder if MS approached them and was expecting it to be a big deal. Sunset Overdrive looks pretty fun (as far as CG trailers can give you any impression). Even if I am not planning to get Xbone I kinda hope for it to be a great game to see if there will be any talk about this.
Yes, I know the thread has no point but I am intrigued by the absolute apathy about this that could have been a big betrayalton in different circumstances.
That didn't stop Bungie from leaving MS.
As for Insomniac, I like thembut not nearly enough to think about getting Xbone.
Bungie never was MS owned studio. They were second party.

I don't understand the people who label Insomniac a B-Tier developer. They made Spyro, they made Ratchet. If Resistance hadn't been a flop, they'd be as highly held as Naughty Dog, whose history with them is almost one to one(they made Crash, they made Jak).

Because after that old Playstation heritage, Naughty Dog went on to make Uncharted and The Last of Us. Insomniac made Resistance and FUSE.

I think Playstation will do fine without them.
Now, if Naughty Dog leaves ...

Some of the vitriol and shittyness in this thread is really sad and hard to read. I can't say anything bad about Insomniac. I'm not even a big fan of their games but they seem to treat their workers well, put a ton of features into their games, have a great relationship with their fans and so on. It just seems like the kind of company you'd be proud to work with and support. This thread is making me cringe, hoping nobody at Insomniac is reading it, but I'm sure at least jstevenson has.
I wasn't big on the Resistance series but A crack in time was tons of fun. It was my first (and still only) Ratchet game, I got it on impulse buy since gaf said it was great and it was. I would buy another one if they had those time puzzle sections again. That was my favorite part of the game, the shooting sections were just okay to me. If they made an entirely separate PSN/XBLA Clank game I'd get that in a heartbeat.
Sunset Overdrive looks good, I love the visual look. I'm never going to get the xbox one due to it's DRM, so I won't be able to play it, but I hope it does well. For anyone at Insomniac reading this don't take the negativity too serious, a lot of it is just misplaced hatred for 'dealing with devils' (EA/MS). Good luck on sunset, I'll be glad if/when you decide to make something on PS4 one day.
That's what I keep saying. ..R2 co-op was GREAT!.
....I loved the single player as well.
I just want another Ratchet and Clank for the PS4.
Do it Insomniac!
Insomniac wanted to go multiplat. That simple.
Thought I read the first post two times but missed that - my bad! They wanted to go multiplat so they signed another first party deal? That's certainly an interesting way to do it.
I've been disappointed in basically everything since A Crack in Time...
It's sad to think the Ratchet Series is done![]()
It's like ND and Insomniac did a switcheroo in terms of quality and sales.
