Zogby has Obama at +4.0, which matches what I previously posted thinking it could have been wrong.

(31% Obama/24% Clinton/27% Edwards)

Go Obama!

He certainly needs this if he is to win.

I've never really felt so detached before, as I know none of these chuckle heads will make me anything less than furious. It's sort of like watching the Yankees v Red Sox. I just wish they'd all go away.

Kind of how I feel about ALL of the candidates. :/

Go Obama, I guess.

CNN has actually been giving Paul some props today... they seem slightly optimistic that he will do well.

I have been switching from MSNBC and Fox News all day. ( Mainly MSNBC ) and they haven't mentioned Paul once. I guess I'm watching the wrong networks. *changes to CNN*

Meh. I'm probably leaning Romney. This is a year I could see myself voting for a democrat, but I can't abide socialized health care.

Yeah, there's no candidate I'd really love to win... except Bill Richardson. Too bad he has a negative fifty two percent chance of actually being president.

Of the frontrunners, I prefer Obama. But it's really not saying anything at all, because the rest of the candidates aren't exactly anything I'd vote for ever.

BTW, read an interesting book today, Confessions of a Political Hitman, written by an opposition research(dirt-digger) who worked campaigns for decades. Basically a look at negative campaigning and what effects it had on politics.

I didn't think that was out yet??

Picked it up from Barnes & Noble. Had some interesting stuff in there also on the whole Abramoff thing that I hadn't seen anywhere else.

If you're into political reads, check out The Myth of the Rational Voter. A little dry but incredibly interesting.

Bill Richardson is the governor of New Mexico. He was re-elected governor of New Mexico in 2006. The citizens of New Mexico elected Bill Richardson governor by a margin of two-to-one.

What is the point here??

Yeah, I really don't think they place the candidates very well.
They're placed depending on their position on the issues you're asked about. The website has been very popular the last few years with Dutch elections - they've only recently been creating versions for elections in other countries. Also, they're very clear on saying that this website doesn't tell you what to vote, it just gives you a better view of the issues out there and helps you collect your opinions on those issues, and which candidates match up with those views.

America is just not ready for a Hispanic President.

Rudy campaign choking confirmed.

We also would've accepted "Steinbrenner makes sense, he's used to throwing money away on a losing New York team"

If donors are a reflection of the candidates, I have two words.

Scoop. Jackson.

Looks like McCain has the power of the NFL behind him.

44 minutes and counting till it starts. 1 hour 44 minutes till we know results! ZOMG!

We'll probably have a good idea by 10 est.

They said 9est on MSNBC. But who knows...

Sometime between 9 & 10 est.

Zogby has Huckabee ahead by 6 points, basically 3 way tie between Paul, McCain and Thompson at 10%.

If it truly is a three way tie for third between decided voters, then Paul will get third because of the Paul recruiters.

Man, every new piece of Romney footage I see, I'm convinced he's a robot crafted for politics. Everything is just too neat about him.

Fuck I'm all anxious... kinda nervous, too.

Honestly, I'm not the least bit concerned; the "worst" the Democrats could do is have Edwards or Obama lead the candidates. The chips will fall where they will, and while I have no doubt the vast majority of the punditry will be wrong, I don't think they'll be altogether that far off either in terms of some of their predictions.

OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA !!!

Wait, this only takes 1 hour?

early anecdotal evidence has sounded good for Obama.. liveblogs say huge turnouts and lots of young people.

Also the media hasn't budged yet on their narrative today even though they should have some entrance poll data by now.

On the Democrats: ANYBODY BUT CLINTON. Can't decide if Edwards or Obama is better.

On the Republicans: Let's hope my libertarian man can pull out a strong showing!

Also, the amount of influence that the Iowa caucus has is crazy stupid. It's one of those things that if they were going to setup the electoral practice from scratch right now in 2008 they would never do anything like it but because it's already in place then that's the way it is. Same with New Hampshire. These two states have way too much influence every single year. Though it's also the voters' fault in other states for being influenced by these early, almost meaningless contests.
