IPs that you have lost enthusiasm for.

With the announcement of Halo yesterday I realize I am REALLY bored with Halo, I have been playing since CE, and have logged in close to 6 months of straight gameplay over the past 10+ years, but these yearly release bother the HELL out of me. Multiplayer is one of my favorite things to do, and I could just play reach or something for that.

Other games:
Super Smash Brothers, played many many hours of the original and melee, and a real mediocre feeling from brawl, I have no excitement in a new one, I mean really WHY!? from what everything seems it just seems like the same old same old.

Forza, forza would be different if they added in new features. but its getting ridiculous. not even any weather or nighttime effects! just more ways for none drivers to play the game for some reason.

Why is it games like World of Warcraft sees nearly a decade of sales and support, but other games cant do this? A lot of games would be better suited to this release style. Ie non story driven games.

One REALLY balanced and defined Halo, then support it with map packs and updates for 5 years, maybe even single player expansions.

Assassin's Creed.

They lost me a third of the way through Revelations. Before that it was my favorite new series of the generation. The handholding got to be too much, and the investigating and non-linearity and subtlety (what little there was) was replaced with explosions and battles against dozens of foes.

I used to be too enthusiastic for Super Smash Bros. "Japan time" was a bit of an obsession for me. Now I don't get fanboyishly crazy about anything, period. No matter how big the game is, not even if it was Shenmue 3. I remain reasonably enthusiastic... and more optimistic overall, believe it or not.

Asscreed. After the mediocrity of the last one combined with the disappointment of Revelations, I'm just burnt out on the series. I'm not ready for AC:Pirates edition. At least the main character there looks interesting...

Halo

but 60 FPS and dedicated servers have rekindled some of my lost enthusiasm. if 343 makes a good Halo game then I'll be happy again

Halo. And I was one of the guys who shamefully read the books and bought a couple Mega Bloks.

Assassin's Creed. Played the first 3 on PS3 and each new entry ran worse than the last one. Screen tearing, excessive framerate drops. Fuck you, Ubisoft.

Also, not touching any shit game from the Inferior B-Team Treyarch.

Professor Layton, every game is the exact same. Having been spoiled on the ending of the 6th game, I might not even bother with it. And I was a huge fan of the original trilogy.

I'm getting there with Mario. The move towards capturing a casual audience with the NSMB games didn't bother me too much, since I always preferred the more creative 3D entries. Now that those seem to be going in the same direction, it might be time to give up on it.

Resident Evil - Went from brilliant RE4 to meh RE5 to pure crap RE6.
Elderscrolls - Followed the same downward spiral as RE.
Uncharted - Too much been there done that by the end of the 3rd.
God of War - Same as Uncharted.

Halo is my favorite video game series, but beween the mediocrity of Halo Reach and Halo 4 multiplayer, and the fact that the future of the series lies in the Xbox One, my interest is almost totally dead. I'll keep playing Halo 4 (it's gotten way better since launch), but I won't even bother following the future of the franchise.

Metal Gear Solid.

The trailer for MGSV yesterday did nothing for me. It was the first time that has ever happened with this series. I was thoroughly excited by the absurdity surrounding The Phantom Pain reveal trailer, and even the early Ground Zeroes footage had me interested; but something about that MGSV trailer fell completely flat for me.

Call of Duty for sure. I can't even get my self to play with all my friends anymore. I just end up trolling if I do.

Assassin's Creed. I played all the way up until 3, and enjoyed it somewhat. But I don't think I plan on getting AC4.

But I don't know if I'm just purely tired of AC games, or if it's the setting. I mean open-world pirates game should be something I'm jumping at. But not when it's an AC game. I mean an assassin pirate? Just seems silly. The main character is becoming less of an assassin and more of a super-soldier. 4 guns, dual swords, bombs, etc.

Assassin's Creed, don't really know too much about Black Flag though, I should probably check it out.
New Super Mario Series for obvious reasons

Assassin's Creed
Gears of War
Halo
God of War
Uncharted (maybe)
COD (maybe, unless another shooter can take it's place. TitanFall could be it)

Those are the biggies, they've all worn out their welcome with me.

Metal Gear Solid.

I am so sooooo tired of Big Boss. If it was starred by Solidus or Liquid Snake I'll be more interested. Kojima has been playing it too safe after MGS2.

Halo for sure. Was actually sad when the hood came off during the trailer and it was Master Chief.

Couldn't care less about Gears of War or Final Fantasy either. Getting tired of modern day fps like CoD and BF as well.

Shit. Basically a lot of series that have gone past 3 games without a good reboot have lost me.

Halo in the sense that Microsoft managed to kill my interested in Xbox One thrice (reveal/specs, DRM, price (and those fucking arrogant insulting comments)).
Won't get to play anymore Halo, except perhaps Spartan Assault.

Didn't have any interest in other IPs. Some i lost ages ago (like AC after AC2).

God of War. Still really fun, not something that I would get hyped for anymore though. I started to be a little put off by all the random sex and certain extra violent scenes. I don't think the game needs stuff like that. There is already a lot of visceral action and plenty of epic moments. And the gameplay could stand on it's own for a 12 hour game.

I can't muster any excitement anymore for most of Nintendo's output since the final Gamecube days with Twilight Princess as the swan song. I still love F-Zero and Metroid, though, and even Other M scratched my Metroid itch just fine and can't wait for the next one, regardless of developer. I just confirmed this after watching their E3 direct and not feeling anything for the new Mario, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros. I just don't find them appealing to me anymore.

Gears of War and God of War. Old, stale gameplay. GTA V better be good or you can add it to the list.
