It's the way he's trying to act like they're the victim. It's sickening. At least he'll be there for a while and have to watch as county after county tell him he's wrong. Maybe it'll get through to him, unlikely, but maybe, just maybe.

Anyway, not to dwell on the negative as in it's in a minority. Good on you Ireland. Nice to see we can do some things right and add another stripe to the rainbow curtain of western Europe.

Feeling mixed emotions...

On one hand it's incredible for the people of Ireland.

On the other hand it highlights how fucking disgusting my country of Australia is right now, as it doesn't feel like it's even on the table here with our current cunt of a prime minister. :(

Hey, wanna switch? Here in Poland we don't even have civil unions. In the eyes of the law gay couples are total strangers and gay marriages (or civil union) contracted abroad aren't recognized. And every proposition of bill that could change it is stroke down. Now that's disgusting.

I also find it funny that local catholic/right-wing media present the whole referendum and the results as a result of "homolobby" activity and that people were pressured by LGBT activists. :lol It's hard for them to grasp that majority of Irishmen - both young and old - can be for marriage equality.

Not sure who's taking them down, but the rapidity with which no posters are disappearing from Dublin City centre is amazing. Where I was, virtually all were gone at lunch time.

How many times does it need to be said.

A referendum is the only way to permanently provide these rights to every citizen in tbf State. From a purely technical point of view.
