Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggg. The bit with Iron Man grabbing Pepper in bed was pretty creepy. Nice to see we'll probably get some proper Iron Man on Iron Man action this time.

trailer looked good.... so WTF is this is Don the other iron man? never read the comics.

I find it funny that we have advanced to the point as a society where cgi that looks as good as it did in the trailer is being slammed as shit. I think it looked great to me personally.

yeah it pretty funny, but people said the same about Avatar too.... it had some of the best CGI ever... ...hell I'm glad I don't have jesus vision like most of gaf.... I just don't pay attention to that stuff I guess.. some people just go looking for it when watching movies... sucks for them.

I'm not sure that I understand the woe is me stuff he mentions after "New York." If it's referring to The Avengers, he and Banner were two jolly fellows driving off to be science buddies. It can't be referring to Iron Man 2 because that was fairly positive for him and Rhodes.

Any ideas?

Obviously, the movie isn't out for seven months.

Are people actually complaining about the CG like it's final? Come on.

Happens every time. People are stupid in this regard and they prove it time and time again. Happens so often on the gaming side where games that are a year away from release somehow get picked apart graphically. It's best to ignore them.

And call them idiots as I just did.

I'm curious about the extremis comic.

It's like ~$20 on amazon, but the motion comic thing is on Netflix.

Never seen a motion comic before, are they decent enough?

Coulson died, a lot of other people almost died, and he almost died.

They're definitely referring to the whole almost-dying thing in avengers.

The shot of Tony and Pepper flying backwards looks like something out of a bad TV show.

I hope this movie isn't shit. :(

Ah boo. So it turns out the Iron Patriot armor
is just a repainted War Machine suit
. A little disappointing.

Motion comics can be pretty great but I thought the Extremis one was particularly bad. It kinda ruins Granov's fantastic art.

Eh, it was expected since they can't use the REAL Iron Patriot. Sony isn't even using that character in their new movies, such a shame.

Tony is definitely referencing the events of The Avengers. He's talking about how much it changed modern science and as a result, his life. Aliens and other worlds exist, magic is real, and humanity is way behind in in the progress of tech. These are all things that would seriously fuck with Tony Stark's head...and helps establish the fact that this time, he's up against a villain with mystical powers and vast knowledge of alien technology.

I think with all the bad shit happening to Tony and how he says he needs a way to protect Pepper, I think Rescue is pretty likely, but they definitely wouldn't reveal it just yet. I would like to hope that they don't mention it at all and it's a surprise for the audience.

There wasn't. Knowing there was already Iron Man 3 coming, I was not once thinking Tony would die. I guess it's the downside of knowing Marvels release schedule.

without knowing this, you actually thought they would kill off one of their hottest properties?

New York was fucked up due to some aliens. It's simple really.

Everything has changed.

Plus Tony caught a glimpse of Marvel Cosmic.

The Mandarin with crazy ancient clothing and rings interests me even if Ben Kingsley doesn't. Hopefully they'll go full magick with him.

Negative CGI comments are expected, every single movie thread has them.

Watched a bit on Netflix. Yeah it does look kinda weird.

Hmmm can't seem to find the comic legally digitally.

I'm very confused, I thought Disney bought the rights to Iron Man and its distribution, why is it still showing Paramounts logo at the beginning? Or did Disney just buy distribution rights and Paramount is still producing (which begs the question why would Paramount do that?)

I think Mandarin seizes control of a bunch of Iron Man suits, remotely. I'd imagine Rhodey loses his War Machine armour too, but we'll see.

Tony reverse engineeres the alien remote control tech, as does the Mandarin. The Mandarin hacks himself into Tony's mind control thingie and starts messing with him causing him to have nightmares and questioning his sanity. Tony's loved ones get hurt and Tony starts to lose it. The Mandarin makes speeches about the true nature of heroes and seizes control of the suits and attacks Tony head on. But then the ceiling falls and they are trapped and not able to fight. “No! I must destroy the Iron Men” Tony shouts. JARVIS says “No, Tony. You are the Iron Men.” And then Tony is a robot.

Disney owns basically everything, all Paramount gets is their logo at the front of the movie and trailers. Basically they make money without lifting a finger.

I'm throwing money in your general direction, hopefully some of it reaches you

You've never put up a false front to hide what you're really feeling before?

So basically Disney paid Paramount to produce the movie, but otherwise will be taking all the profits.

And here is another thing that confuses me, Disney owns all the Marvel licences, yet Universal Studios Theme Park has all the Marvel Charecter's and Disney World/Land have no Marvel proprieties anywhere. So is Disney making these movies and promotion them and letting Universal make the theme park money off everything???

I'm seeing it for sure, but that trailer did not make my cunt moist at all.

And to echo other comments, that suit looks like pure diarrhoea. The design used at the end of avengers was perfect.

New suit looks fine to me. Maybe a bit too much gold, but eh, it works.

Marvel wasn't going to kill off any Avenger in the movie. Just wasn't going to happen. Maybe in Avengers 2...maybe.

Does Mandarin tie into the first two movies at all? In the first film that terrorist guy was the leader of a cell called "The Ten Rings" and he had a special ring on his finger that Obadiah Stane stole. I hope it connects to that because that was the story arc that Jon Favareu was building towards.

Maybe I'm just a little tired, but I didn't understand the narrative of that trailer at all. A bunch of new Iron Men? Stark loses his suit? Who's the guy with the beard? What's happening? The trailer didn't make me curious, just confused.

You have to read comics to understand it

I thought that ended with The Avengers? Is this going to be an ongoing thing?

Mandarin is the guy who specifically wears Ten Rings. He's the leader.

Notice he also helps Whiplash in Iron Man 2.
