Who's that supposed to be?

I'm worried it's just going to be Suits vs suits again, they need to change it.
To what exactly?

The foundation of the Iron Man subsection of the MCU is in technology. That will always be the ultimate focus, and unless you want to see Fing Fang Foom breathing fire everywhere and breaking the themes. It's always been the foundation for Iron Man stories and at least this time around the Extremis virus injects a biological element and Mandarin injects potentially a mystical or "magic/advanced technology" context to shake things up.

Also, it's looking like IM3 will have the most suits yet.

I laughed at this copy pasta from 4chan, spoilers... maybe? read at your own risk

Tony starts off as a confidant jerk, but is paranoid about what happened in the Avengers and begins to develop armors like crazy in order to protect himself and Pepper. Goes to China with Rhodey w/ the president. Shows off the Mark 47 to the public and shows off the Iron Patriot repaint of War Machine. A group called the Extremist lead by the mandarin, who tried to copy the Arc Reactor ended up getting the same mysterious Arc Reactor cancer Tony had and want revenge on him. Don't Ask. An Agent of the Extremist called Aldrich Killian impersonates a businessman and gets close to Tony as a friend, all in the while, sabotaging Tony's armors. The Extremist finally launch an attack on Stark on all fronts: make him loose all of his money, having to have iron man fight his own armors that where sabotaged and then launching an all out attack on Stark's mansion in los angeles. They Capture Pepper and leave iron man to sink. The only armor they could not sabotage is the Mark 47 because it's all wired to his brain, knows whats going on at all times with the armor. It's also the only that survives. He figures the only course of action is revenge and begins an all out one man assault on the extremist. The extremist's plan is revealed: they plan on giving the entire world the Arc Reactor Cancer and kill Iron Man once and for all. Pepper is Bait for Tony. Tony goes to SHIELD to steal information on the Extremist and attacks, he soon finds out about the Arc Recactor Cancer plot and heads off to stop them. He stops them, only to find out that Pepper was given the Arc Reactor Cancer. The only option Tony has left is to give Pepper whatever stuff is in him now in his new reactor. Pepper in fear of loosing Tony and fear of not being able to defend herself ask him to build her an armor. He agree's and does so.

Doesn't sound too bad apart from the
infect the world with arc reactor cancer which sounds incredibly stupid to me

I didn't watch Iron Man 2, heard it was bad. This trailer wasn't that great either but I am still interested in this film. I guess I want to see how Ben Kingsley pulls this off. One of the greatest actors of all time.

either Mandarin is controlling it or it's a nightmare sequence.

Man, I hope not. Superhero film villains aren't really villainous enough lately, and I think taking over the main character's awesome robot suit and using it to attack his wife is pretty good as far as dick moves go.

looks like she was locked up in one scene so i assume the former. altho who knows.

not if she's cheating on Tony with the suit.

That's not a nightmare, it's a booty call.

I assumed she was captured when the house gets blown up. Tony gets dragged down into the wreckage and she gets captured from searching the house, or what was left of it.

nICE trailer, but new armor color is lame. It needs to be more red, yeesh.
...but damn son, MANDARIN! Hopefully he is depicted well and that the 3rd movie'll be good.

either Mandarin is controlling it or it's a nightmare sequence.
Which puts leaks into question because that's the Mk. 47 armor IIRC and supposed to be
the only one Mandarin can't have control of.
Or it's a different one. Or I'm just confusing myself.

delayed reaction, he was sleeping. i bet the next scene is him saying "OH SHIT!"

The suit stares at Pepper, then Tony's mouth says "What are you doing?" and Pepper says, "Tony. your machine is awake!"
"I feel like flying."
"Tony wake up!"

People joking about Bane, do they sound similar to you or just notable actors having a different voice? They sound noting alike to me...

The Nolan films always have its share of fans that think everything is taking inspiration from Nolan, for example, Inception created horns, The prestige created twists, The Dark Knight created posters with people turning their back to the screen and now the DKR created eurotrash villains with horrible accents.

Tony, he lost everything now he inflitrates the place and gets ready to kick some ass. that same person is seen holding a pistol later. Also the A in the shield is an anarchy symbol.

I am not sure whether people are joking or what, but that is not Tony. It's Ben Kingsley. it's looks like him before he dons the rings. And it's a circled skull to me.

lol at everyone complaining about the CG. It looks just as good as the CG in previous films. Plus, I'm sure most of you wouldn't have noticed a difference if you didn't know ILM wasn't working on the film.

It didn't create those, but it sure as hell re-popularized several of them. You'd have to be a fool to think that others in Hollywood aren't taking notes from a series of incredibly successful films.

I guess I'm a beautiful unique snowflake...

Iron Man 2 was terrible. This looks great and I have nothing but fate in Shane fucking Black.

this movie is a big miss
iron man 1 is way way way better than this

I thought this movie pretty much sucked. I seriously struggled to stay awake in the cinema.

Me too. I think Iron Man 2 went straight to Spidey 3 mode.

saw it yesterday. I hated it.

And some Avengers:

It was good but not great, action scenes looked fantastic and there were some genuine jaw dropping moments.

It was big, it was loud, and it was a mess, which was basically what I was expecting.

Just got out. Well, it was pretty good, not great by any means but good. It's chock full of cheesy dialogue, something of a whedon staple, but the action was well done, set pieces were all good and the laughs were well done. Had a few issues, which I'll detail when I get home.

Oh my god this movie felt silly, It was like the architecture in Las Vegas. Like if a 3 year old made it, Just mix everything and it will be AWESOME.

And our lord and savior himself:

Just got back. It's kinda shit.

Not saying I'm in the majority opinion (thought I was for Iron Man 2), but I don't have a rare opinion at all. I love Whedon, Avengers just didn't hit the mark for me. It was okay. I was really let down by Dark Knight Rises also, if it makes you feel better.

Iron Man 2 was complete dogshit for sure, but this trailer looks promising as far being an improvement.

There are quite a number of professionals in the business on these boards actually.

I know you work at ILM, so I'm not counting you in this discussion. I got halfway through the first page and the "lol that is DEFINITELY not ILM" posts were hilarious to me. If these guys didn't know that there was a behind-the-scenes studio change, I'm positive 99% of them wouldn't have noticed a difference.

Maybe they wouldn't have been able to pinpoint the exact problem (studio change), but the CG in that trailer was noticeably mediocre in several spots.

When I first watched the trailer - before I even knew about the change - I thought that scene where Tony's mansion is attacked/crumbles looked pretty spotty. Now I just know the reason.

... Not to say they can't improve it, considering how much time they have between now and release, but it's more apparent than you're willing to admit.
