There are quite a number of professionals in the business on these boards actually.

Actually ,some gaffer they know working for ILM that pointed the lack of his/hers studio is probably part of the reason of some of these unjustifiable comments in the first place.

I hope you're not accusing me of purposely trying to instigate something here, because that was never my intent at all. My original post in that other Marvel thread was simply being curious to see how Scanline's CG suits turn out as its what most of us here are most interested in seeing.

The dialogue in that trailer was horrid. Not to mention that it seems to me that they were trying to mimic the new Batman films tonally.

they always said that iron man 3 was a more personal journey for tony stark. i think this reflects what has already been said than ripping off nolans batman.

I know you work at ILM, so I'm not counting you in this discussion. I got halfway through the first page and the "lol that is DEFINITELY not ILM" posts were hilarious to me. If these guys didn't know that there was a behind-the-scenes studio change, I'm positive 99% of them wouldn't have noticed a difference.

I didn't think the suits looked bad. Tony's house coming down looks bad though. But like it is early and there is a good chance this was a rush job just to get the word out. It will look fine when it is released.

Tony looks like he is in alot trouble in the trailer with bad people out to get him.

He better call his fellow Avengers to help him out.

( But seriously will they explain why none of them come to his aid? )

Well, Thor would still be stuck on asguard, except for special circumstances (like how he got to earth thanks to Odin's extreme effort), Banner is probably off on another continent, and Shield/Cap... eh who knows. I could see them being busy, and the events of this film probably happen very quickly.

Anyone feel sorry for Tony's house? In the first movie, Tony falls through it and knocks a hole in the roof. In the second, Tony and Rhodes have their brawl and nearly level the place. This time it gets sent into the ocean.

Iron Man 2 already seemed to try going into a personal journey for Stark, and it was cheesy and failed miserably.

How else are they going to get him to live in NY?

Liked Iron Man 2, loved The Avengers, am obviously on board for this. That said, the trailer seems to have been edited together by a two year old with its fingers stuck together. Not sure what to think.

No more secrets, Marty.

Its time for Iron Man to beat the shit out of Gandhi, that sexy beast.

Had the exact same feeling. Didn't work for me.

The destruction of Tony's house is what I would have expected from ILM, honestly. On the other hand, the shot of Rhodeypatriot landing on the sidewalk, and the shot of the new suit with the "one hand on the floor" pose seemed to have some blurriness that I associate with rough CGI.
I agree. I thought the destruction of Stark's house looked great. But there was something about the shots with Iron Man or Iron Patriot in them where it looks like they were incorporated into the scenes at a lower resolution(?)

In previous movies (especially Avengers) Iron Man's armor sort of "pops" onscreen. How can I say this... it looks vivid. In the very quick shots in this trailer the armors look a little blurry. Not tragic looking by any means, I thought it looked good. Plus they still have plenty of time to polish the effects anyway.

I liked the tone of the trailer, though I haven't seen The Dark Knight Rises yet so I don't see all the references to that movie.

I hope Scanline's CGI is just as good as ILM's and Marvel sticks with them for the rest of their movies, that way no more annoying posts from a certain someone about how criticizing a CGI asset is an insult to him and his co-workers.

You're the absolute last person who should be complaining about annoying posters in Marvel threads.

Im not accusing you, on the contrary, you are a well liked user and people here seem to be taking it personal that Marvel decided to use another studio.

love how GAF are CGI experts. So fucking funny to read these comments.
You don't need to be an expert to judge if you like the CGI or not.

Just like you don't have to be a worldclass cook to judge if the thanksgiving turkey tastes good or not.

whats Nick Fury gonna be doing on this movie? cameo at end?

From the looks of it the movie will have little SHIELD involvement. They are already going to be all over Captain America 2, Steve will be heading up his own SHIELD ops unit, which Fury will likely preside over.

The running rumour is that the post-credits scene will involve
Hank Pym/Ant-Man
.

Trailer was a great set up for what to expect. Loved it. As for the naysayers, I've learned to never trust GAF's opinions on movies and films. In fact, i don't think i trust GAF's opinion on anything. Yet I keep coming back...
