Xbox One going back on it's word about DRM and online requirements after one of the members of the xbox team stating: 'those without Internet connectivity should simply purchase an Xbox 360 instead.'

Vita's redeeming feature is being able to remote play console games, brings it a new lease of life after many considered that handhelds were getting too many console ports.

There are better ones, lets see what famous quote or saying that many developers and publishers have backpedaled from.

IS IN GAMING.

Halo announcing as a Mac OS title and releasing as an Xbox exclusive.

Nothing beats Xbox180

DmC
- Dante looking like the creative director got changed
- Capcom JPN saying they were helping to ease concerns
- the feel of 60fps

The PlayStation itself might qualify. Originally it was the Play Station, and a CD add on for the SNES, if I remember correctly.

Nintendo supposedly backed out on the deal and Sony forged ahead with a standalone console.

Maybe not a 180 per say, but an ironic twist.

The 3DS getting rid of the 3D:

Bone 180 is the classic.

DF saying lesser PS3 versions were as if they had vaseline smeared on them, and then little to nothing about inferior Bone ports.

Gies' secret sauce and the continual "wait for x" crap was quite bad too.

Playstation Keynote E3 2006:

"We are not interested in gimmicks..."

*unveils motion sensing Sixaxis*

Fixed. At the time, they were claiming that rumble was a "last gen" feature, which was in absolutely no way related to their ongoing legal battles with Immersion Corporation. Then they settled, and quickly released the DualShock 3.

Playstation Move was a great one.

Also a lot of posters on GAF explaining how it was completely different to the Wiimote...

3ds frankenstick (and then Nintendo not giving a shit about it)

Mikami saying he'll cut his head off before RE4 was released on another system/PS2.

PS2 version was announced before the 'exclusive' GC version was even out.

Mikami still has his head...

2007: PS3 multiplats are a few pixel lower res, look uglier than 360. Journalists up in arms.
2013: Xbone games are 720p vs 1080p on PS4. Journalists: it doesn't matter, its about the games.

Say power doesn't matter...but then turn around and go nuts over graphics of certain games. In recent time both MS/Nintendo

ton of dumb shit said by Sony in the early days of ps3

Xbone 180s galore

Recent media downplaying of visuals in games when it comes to the ps4/Xbone comparisons. The Sessler one was hilarious given he said the opposite just a while back

When I first booted up F Zero GX, and saw 'NINTENDO' and 'SEGA' on the same splash screen.

Seems appropriate that the result was one of the best games ever made.

Pretty much everything to do with Xbox, Microsoft and their fans this past year has been like a Bizarro world version of most of current gen with regard to things like resolution, multiplat differences, lower price points, indie games, downloadable games, exclusives... through the fucking looking glass.

Also, Nintendo fans regurgitating every single piece of defense force rhetoric with regard to the Wii U that only a year before they were giving Sony fans shit for spouting about the Vita. Made me a believer in karma that one.

Lastly... Ars Technica. Just fuken lool Ars, just fuken lool at what you are today vs a few short years ago.

They didn't get rid of the 3D, just merely created a budget line 3DS but without for 3D effect

Vince Zampella, Jason West leave EA (2015, Inc) to create a new studio: Infinity Ward. They leave Activision (Infinity Ward) to create Respawn Entertainment (funded by EA).

Vince Zampella seemed surprised on Twitter about how EA made Titanfall a Microsoft exclusive.

The whole "SNES Play Station" drama really came back to bite Nintendo in the arse. Of course we don't have the full details, so dropping Sony may have been a good thing especially if some of the rumours are to be believed. It certainly was a great thing for gamers as competition is great for the industry and it brought with it some of the greatest ever consoles/games.

Activision started because of Atari programmers trying to leave the company because they didn't get due credit or bonuses. Atari tried to sue them. 30 years later...

Nintendo claiming that disc-based games were too slow and not the future of gaming after the SNES CD plans fell through.

The Genesis/Mega Drive versions of EA sports games being one of the major reasons for its early success in the West. By the end of the Saturn's life, EA had completely dropped support for Sega platforms.

Microsoft paying $375 million for Rare, a studio seemingly at the top of its game with a list of legendary hits, only for their subsequent games (with the exception of Kinect Sports) to continuously underperform either on the market or critically.

After seeing your Usenet things never change thread I expect you to be the master of this subject haha.

Valve and the ps3

Start of the generation - Worst console ever. Kill it now.

Middle of the generation - Its the best console.

End of the generation - What? Consoles exist?

Can someone confirm to me that Rayman Legends sold more on WiiU ?

I heard it from a friend and would be REALLY ironic considering all the "exclusive ... NOPE ! Delay of a finished game" crap =P

PS Move was kind of hard to believe when it was announced. Especially after the lollipop comments, lol. And then of course the Move defense force saying it had nothing to do with the Wiimote.

XB1 was kind of huge. They were so determined on going full DRM with the system.

Nintendo bashing RPGs only to see Pokémon become absurdly huge and the biggest breadwinner for the company during that generation.
