Is anyone going to watch Warm Bodies?

for those wondering how you'd make a somewhat interesting movie out of this:

they took some liberties with zombies. The biggest one being that they can, for a moment, gain the memories of their victim's brains when they eat them, and this is pretty much the base of the whole thing, at least in terms of how do you get out of a pretty stale situation (just following a zombie around for the duration of the thing).. not wanting to spoil much else. No idea if the movie changes this from the book tho

its pretty good, original, and nooooothing like Twilight at all really

i get the feeling that you spoiled part of the movie revealing that information.

Unless they change it from the book it shouldn't be a spoiler, though it does appear to be just about the only thing they're leaving out of the trailers.

It reminds me a lot of Hansel & Gretel, Witch Hunters -- awesome, original, imaginative concept, but the trailers make the final product look pretty ho-hum and unentertaining.

I feel like a lot of movies slated for 2013 have the same problem -- cool idea, but poor execution and casting.

I joked about it ... but that poster he has a scar in his upper lip EXACTLY where the blood on this image is :

Now i'm kinda freaked out

The movie has a 75% fresh on RottenTomato.com.

The movie definitely felt like a 7/10 to me, so I'd say this is accurate.

One thing I admire about it is that it can just as easily serve as a date movie as it can a 'night out with friends' movie. It's a somewhat gory, gross out romantic comedy flick. There will be kissing, but it's preceded by copious amounts of brain eating. And in Warm Bodies this actually works without coming off as complete B movie schlock the way you'd imagine it would.

It's no Shaun of the Dead, but it's worth the price of admission if you have somebody to see it with.

The reviews are good, (75% on RT) so I'll probably check it out. It's been a few weeks since anything good's come out.

I thought Hansel & Gretel looked awful enough that I refuse to see it. This looks okay enough to sit through if you know others who want to see it.

Hansel & Gretel looked exactly like that terrible Kate Beckinsale Van Helsing movie.

I never saw Van Helsing, but I actually rather liked Hansel and Gretel. Well, more precisely I liked Gretel. :)

It reminds me a lot of steampunk -- ridiculous and highly anachronistic. But if you can get excited about people in the middle ages tearing up witches with chainguns and not care about the fact that it doesn't make any historical sense, then it's a pretty fun movie to watch. I'm not sure what you might call this particular genre though -- woodpunk? Steelpunk?

This movie is called "Memoirs of a teenage zombie" in Spain, and "My boyfriend is a zombie" in Mexico :lol

My GF loved the book, and is very pissed at the movie because the trailers make it look like a comedy instead of a serious love story. Looking at Wikipedia, it seems that there was an e-book-only prequel released three days ago, too.

I want to see this film, Nicholas Hoult is a great actor and I hope that this is his year. Also I wasn't a fan of 50/50; but I did see a lot of potential in the director.

Had never heard of this until now, just watched the trailer, looks fun, will check it out. Plus it's got Teresa Palmer, and she is both awesome + fucking gorgeous (I Am Number 4 and Take Me Home Tonight), so yup, I will see this.

I'm looking forward to this! I was expecting not to like the trailer at all, but it turned out to be pretty charming

Also, it was directed by the guy who did 50/50

I want to watch it, just not enough to pay for it. Will watch when it comes to dvd or if I can get a decent bootleg I will watch.

concept sounds bad, but the movie looks good. looking forward to it.

getting great reviews also. but i have a feeling this will bomb a bit because of the hate this has been getting and everyone just going along with that. i mean, look at this thread.

I saw it and really liked it. It's a fun movie about a zombie coming back to life with a great soundtrack and some lol moments.

Hate is mostly coming from an irrelevant group of 20-something year old guys on the Internet who wouldn't give this movie a chance, regardless of numerous positive reviews. They've successfully been kept away by the movie's marketing direction.

I say irrelevant, because these are the same fucks who hype up movies like Scott Pilgrim, but don't actually bother to pay money to see it and pirate it instead, while complaining that it bombed. I would market Warm Bodies as a chick flick too, if it meant avoiding the shitty Box Office fate of "nerd" movies.

i can't abide a film that has nicholas hoult as the leading actor. him and zachary quinto just make me hate for no apparent reason

If i'm forced into a movie this weekend and can't convince my fiancee to see zero dark thirty, i'll manage to survive if this is her suggestion instead.
